Where it just quickly skips ahead to the scene where they're lighting a cigarette and discussing things afterward? That functions very well as a plot device, in some instances, I would imagine. Or are you talking about hentai? Good writers don't need to rely on such trivial bullshit to make their stories seem more interesting. I would watch hentai if I were interested in seeing anime characters having sexual intercourse. Amongst other scary things I've heard about ... By its very nature, no, it does not and never will belong in anime. Anime =/= Hentai. Just one more synonym that I now hate to add to the pile ..

You do not seem to understand why I said it is disgusting. It is disgusting because Gundam Seed is not limited to adults yet they've shown soft porn of the show. If a show with young audiences shows sexual parts, you know what might happen. Where in Gundam Seed was there softcore porn?! Kira on top of this babe who was manipulating him. I believe they were performing sexual intercourse.. more messed up was that this female character was somehow intimately affiliated with another character in the series. However, she instead pursues Kira because of his amazing ability to kill the people of Zaft. My memory of Gundam Seed when I was 14.

If the answer is yes then it needs to say, if the answer is no then it's up to the creators of the anime, however one shouldn't blindly dismiss sex scenes because "it's sex," unless one is willing to have the same argument about violence. Also the argument that shows up on the first page (and probably after) of "Think of the children" has pretty much ruined entertainment that's made for a "mature" audience because "oh noes, children might interact with/watch this" or some such similar argument. Hell, based on popular media, children today should know 10,000 ways to kill the people around them, but shouldn't know which end is the business end of a penis. To summarize; if the anime/media is made for a mature audience then the subject/images that deal with mature content should be fine.
