Even more in novels than manga. Free speech is easier to defend when there isn't a picture to see. Broadcast rules are more restrictive than those for printed material which generally restrict only obscene material. |

Animes in the shojou genre usually do sex scenes well. Not too graphic, but gets the characters feelings across, such as Bokura ga ita.
For the explicit animations, there's a genre called hentai for a reason. |

rveniss wrote: Here's my opinion on sex scenes in anything, really: Sex is a normal thing; adults in relationships have sex with each other. It's not really something that needs to be shoved aside so that we can pretend it doesn't happen, because it does. What I don't like, though, are sex scenes just for the sake of having a sex scene--where titillation is the only goal and the focus is on the genitalia and emphasis of moans and noises. That's just porn. If you want to make/watch porn, go do that, don't try to mix it in with a show that isn't entirely porn. I suppose it comes down to the difference between "doing the nasty" and "making love". I really appreciate a show that acknowledges that normal people in the same situations as the characters would probably be having sex. I can't stand a show that goes out of its way to emphasize the sex and ignore the relationship. A great example of a show that uses sex well is "ef~a tale of memories". It never really shows the sex itself, but you see the characters cuddling naked, their clothes spread out before them. You see them waking up together, blushing about it later; it's quite cute. I agree with this. I think sex is a natural thing, and should probably be treated less like a tabuu. But I must agree, if it's just a sex scene for the simple sake of just having a sex scene, it's utterly useless. But if the anime would take on a more realistic way of thinking, and acting. Sex should most definitely be a part of it. However, one thing I'd beg for, is no overly sized breasts bouncing naked around. |

OMG lurking Crunchyroll occupies me throughout the whole day. It's a curse.

Sex scenes don't need to be in Anime that's what Hentai was created for.

I agree, as long as it's girl on girl or guy on girl.

I like Anime with clothes on. I don't see how getting naked or erotic helps with the plot.
I think Anime can be very great when it comes to story telling and art |

On borderline hentai/ hentai then its an OK. But for ecchi genre, sticking with just jokes is the best.

I'll get turned off it's yaoi. Having sex scene makes anime lean on hentai side. I don't perfer that but it'll be alright if it's behind the scene like clannad.

It depends. As long as it is not a perverted sex scene then sure why not.
It is kinda awkward when they appear but whatever, it gives it character : D I prefer those implied sex scenes; if that makes any sense > < |

Ugh I hate this.

It's okay. Only if it's yaoi.
