Got a question... I'm interested in subbing some chinese series and I've got VobSub as well as Windows Movie Maker on my computer. The only problem is that the original video files are in rmvb format. Is there someway I can change the file format so that I can use Windows Movie Maker or is there another program that I can use with videos in rmvb format?

like meiksan said, look for winavi...

problem is ur going to have to pay for the full version or get it by uhm... other means. *hint*

then when you select the file ( rmvb file ) to change into a avi or mpg it'll redirect you
you back to the companies website to download the plugin that'll enable RMVB to AVI ( mpg )

then you're set.

if u have another questions go ahead and ask.

I want to try something.

Okay guys if you want to sub something let me know. I'm now accepting transcripts. So all you need to do is send me a transcript and I will time it and send you back a .srt file or hardsub the video and upload it. This is open to anything (anime, drama, etc.). Send me a PM if you have something in mind.

Just wondering if someone could help me out with this. I'm trying to do subs with Subtitle Workshop but I'm having trouble changing the font size. I would like to make them smaller. Can someone tell me how I can do this?

I think Subtitle Workshop only allows you to add subs to the video. If you want to change the fonts, try downloading SubStation Alpha.

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Sub_Station_Alpha

You'll need to save your sub file to .ssa in order to open it there.

You can't change the font size within SW. SW does not encode the video, it gives you a sub file to add to your video with another program. Thats where VDM comes in. Within VDM you can change the font/size/color/etc. of the subs, then hardsub the video with your style of subs added.

You use VirtualDubMod, open the video, add the subtitles to the 'Streams list', select 'direct stream copy' under the Video tab, then go to save the file and choose OGM.

This one I get alot, I usually get around the problem by not splitting the file with VDM. If you split with VDM it gets corrupted but if you encode the file with this error in the beginning most files are fine after trying a few other splitter. At the moment i use 3 different ones, sometimes I cant make it work and then I have to compress it so it fits within the 300mb upload range.

Go to page 9 in the ATTENTION UPLOADERS thread and read the exchanges between killar and hipblu. That was what helped me.
