There should be a sequel because the series was way too short.

Man I am wrecking this group with my posts... I'm sorry FLCL is probably my No.1 favorite Anime of all time and it kind of makes me a bit upset when people post something about it and they don't know what their talking about...
Okay. There is no way in hell that there can ever be an FLCL Sequel. FLCL is sort of like a Fairy Tale in the sense that, you know when you get to the end of a fairy tale, the ending is "...and they lived Happily Ever After." Well FLCL has this sort of ending. The point behind the story was Naota learning and growing up to be more mature while at the same time realizing the importance of youth. In the last episode this realization is accomplished through all the conflict and chaos. In the end all the interplanetary stuff ends in a big final battle and a large epiphany. After that as is said in the ending. Life goes back to normal.

If anybody is interested in more of my take on FLCL or other Anime, refer to my Rating Group.

There is a sorta sequel not same characters but same kinda story line aliens and robots and such called Q-Ko-Chan http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=5969 only in manga form and the series is only three books long and finished

Oh and for you Q-Ko Chan is not a sequel. Nonetheless it is a spectacular two book series written by Ueda Hajime who also wrote FLCL. I do recommend Q-Ko Chan merely because of how good and well written it is. Also Q-Ko Chan is more complicated than FLCL is, because Q-Ko Chan doesn't have an ending. It's two books and only two books with no real ending. The art is beautiful and the story is amazing but is way off from being related to FLCL.

Like getting the main theme out to people, the moral of the anime.

Nah. I think it would ruin the story. I think 6 episodes is quite enough. They made a great anime and a small amount of episodes, and that is skill. <3 I love it the way it is.

I dunno, a sequel is a definate no-no, but a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann style movie wouldn't go amiss.
Demo, even condensing the series into a couple of hours could be disastrous. For now, unless there's a definate way to make it the most amazing anime experience ever, then i say leave it well alone. It was an amazing piece of anime that opened me up to the world outside of DBZ, so for that alone i would hate to see someone screw this one up.

Me and my bro watched this and we both totally say "Hell YES!"

I hated the ending. in the sequal it would need to end different. like with Haruko and Takun being together.

I like the way the it ended. Anything new would probably end up disappointing me.

i personally believe there is no need for a sequel, this show is perfect in every sense, a coming of age anime that ends perfectly, why would you want to ruin something so good?
