Most important is the STORYLINE! sucky storyline even if the graphics, voice acting, and etc is good..it's still not worth watching... because people would still love that certain anime even if the graphics is hideous but their storyline is good..

I would say the characters. Personally I find it alright to see guys acting like shit (especially if they're underage), getting beaten up, or being cruel in a way no one can comprehend.
If the director/producer can make the characters 'feel' real, I'd like it.
A good anime has to stand out in some way, too.
