As most should know; A weapon is nothing without the skill of the wielder.

So, what skill [Martial art or such] would you use in battle to compliment your weapon of choice and why? Please go into detail as this should provide grounds for discussion and not just one-way replies.

Kobudo isn't a system per say but rather any of the classical Okinawan martial arts. Often it is taught in collective.

Not exactly.
There is no best weapon. All weapons serve a purpose. That purpose cannot be met without adequete understanding of the weapon and considerable skill in the use of that weapon. In that a weapon serves the function of a tool designed to harm or kill someone.

In drills, I have taken down a trained soldier armed with a paintball gun[to replace a gun] with only a marker[to replace a knife] and I did so without his finger ever arriving on the trigger. So how is the gun the best weapon if even a highly trained user can be bested by one with a fundamentally lesser weapon?

Point made.

You're not necessarily making any sense. Elaborate.

hmmmmmm i think i get it
i think he means that the most strongest techniqe doesn't win all the time
like judo is stronger than kick boxing and would usually win right
well what is bein said is that sometimes judo doesn't win
so he is sayin that there might be a way for kick boxin to beat judo

Hello! Good question. Though perhaps next time you might ask in the "Ask The Warlord" topic which is designed for questions.

It resembles a fantasy weapon that is between a naginata and guan dao.

Koryu Bujutsu [Classic/Traditional martial arts] teach Naginatajutsu which you might want to take up. If you can't find that I would suggest Sojutsu.

If you want help finding a place that might teach near you, tell me what city/province/country you live in and I will try and find a local dojo for you. I would suggest looking in the phone book and searching online first.
