Summer Electric Efficiency

~I've searched and I couldn't find anything related to this topic so if you find this a duplicate please lock.~

Is the voltage in your area low? Beacause of all the power air conditioners use does it make it hard for your other home appliances to work? For example your lights are dim or won't come on, the time on the microwave has faded, or the tv isn't working the way it should.

Right now all the air conditioners in my house are on and im cool but the fluorescent lights don't work, my microwave seems weak, my tv flickers on and off, and the circuit breaker keeps tripping. Newscasters always warn you to use as little electricity as possibe due to the possibility of another black out but no one cares.(including me ) Its very hard to stay cool in the summer when every second your a/c shuts itself off. Do you have the same problem?

Your lucky. But when you start getting 85 to 90 degree weather everything wouldn't work right.

if you dont wanna use AC, go sleep in the basement
my family just turned on the ac this weekend because it finally reached 97F, before, we just stayed on the first floor which was about 15F cooler than the second floor
in the basement its probably just 60F

I live in my basement.

The basement is usually cool but because we had back to back 90 and 85 degree weather it got warm.

Right now there's an energy saving thing at my school.
We try and use fans but when the weather gets too hot we on the ac(which has only happened about 4times this summer). We also only leave one fluorescent light on per class.

And...at home...i sleep in the basement ^^

Due to where I live most houses are constructed with internal AC systems that are pretty efficient so I don't have to worry about window or floor units or huge electric bills. Sucks for you and your 3rd world country.
