Teaching children sex education is wrong but having a president *cough* *cough* launching unconstitutional wars based on lies in other countries is completly ok while draining the shit out of our economy?

Trying to tie these two issues together is ridiculous since they are completely unrelated.

Based on that article (I didn't read any of the other links) it sounds like Obama is not openly advocating sex ed for 5 year-olds, but he refuses to oppose it above the local level. Normally I wouldn't object to giving more options to local government, but I have to wonder about his motivations here. After all it sounds like he's not so interested in offering local government more freedom to decide gun control policies for example.

Sex ed is probably a bad idea at 5 years old. Elementary school teachers know that even k-3rd grade kids will "try things" on the playground and this happens routinely. I'm not convinced that sex ed would reduce that.

Lastly, I don't see any way Obama can possibly win this election. He's just too radical and too wrapped up with too many lunatic fringe things. Jewish people who normally vote democrat are mostly not going to vote for him due to his apparent anti-Israel stance. That by itself is probably enough to lose him the election since elections are won and lost by very small margins. On top of that you have many white people who probably aren't comfortable with a black president for purely racist reasons, then you have more white people who aren't racist who aren't going to be convinced that he isn't a racist after attending what appears to be a racist church for 20 years. Then you have other minorities who will probably be concerned with his apparent racism as well. (Yes there is racism between certain minority groups; it isn't all white-on-minority racism.)

How is he anti israeli? If you mean that he's willing to talk to the Palestinians than that's good. Look at how Jimmy Carter established peace between Israel and Egypt in the 70s. Foreign policy should not mean cutting off diplomacy. Isolationism has done this country no good and it's time our countries have talks with opposing ones to work out peace agreements.

If that's not it then kindly explain.

Then we shouldn't need learn how to read or write until we're old enough to fill out job applications, or learn how to add and subtract until we move out on our own and have to keep track of our finances.

If we teach it to them later after they've already started screwing each other, then they won't know about diseases or protection and it might be too late to help some of them by then.

You can't equate reading to sex ed... Why is it the governments responsibility to corrupt kids? Parents should have a say on if they want their kid to learn that stuff so young. I can see the benefits, but I still don't support it.

This is entertaining..So many people are saying "Don't currupt our kids" when it's surprising how much these kids already know. I say yes to helping them protect themselves from sexual predators and giving them insights on what could happen but I think the real details should come later.

But then again, my elementary school's first sex education came in grade 5 and some kids already knew too much than they should

It obviously wouldn't be anything like how to put on a condem or stuff like that. Maybe just explanation of what love is. Anyway I'd like to learn what would be discussed before making my mind up for sure.

Good point. Government is not our mommy/nanny. You're right, parents should have should have a say on if they want their kid to learn that stuff so young. I know I would if I had a kid.

5 years old? I don't know about that. When I was 5 years old, if the teacher talk about Sex stuff, I don't know what hell she was talking about, All I want to play is my dolls.

Yeah okay. Cause you know, just by having a baby, you lose you're home, you're car, and everything that you own and go down in poverty.

I was just saying that it does increase your chances. Also just because you get an abortion doesnt mean you get breast cancer. You were just saying that it increases your chances and i was just saying that it increases your chances.

Well what if the baby was born in a rich family? You're saying they will automatically go down in poverty.

Oh and, Touche.

Ahem, rich families are the minority. There is a pyramid. Therefore it is much much MORE likely, (learn statistics) that the kid that gets pregnant will have a hard life.

And also we can't equate the safer society we grew up in when we were 5 with what the 5 year olds have to face now. Besides, it isn't really sex education but more like stay away from people who may do bad things to you.

Well no they wont, unless the husband spends all their money gambling, the wife gets fed up and leaves him but only has a high school education, and is forced to prostitute to feed their baby. Assuming that the dad also doesnt pay child support. But those are extreme circumstances.
