Anyways, I believe that people should start buying dvd's.

Think about all the positives to buying anime dvd's.

1)100% Full Quality of your anime, with no reencoding bullshit
2)Supporting the companies that manufacture the dvds. Without them there wouldn't be anime dvd's in Japan, let alone in America.
3)You can always just sit on your couch, pop open a dvd and just watch it on your big screen or whatever the hell you have at any point in time without waiting for some lousy video player quality.

There are more positives but tis lazy to type more _----_

You know l will agree with you there but l fear from buying *Tv series* because it still lacks quality and don't make me show you the original footage without the encoding I did.

I do however own some Dvds.

Edit: You released a video?

yeah well maybe I'll start buying dvd's if they stopselling them at ripoff prices. Why not sell them at a decent price like other shows

When people come from large countries like USA and UK it is so easy to say "anime is cheap those days, you can find it for an good price here and there" but the problem is that that only counts for countries like UK and USA I am from an small country where there is barely anywhere to find anime and it is really really expensiv there are no places for sales and importing isn't an option. I would gladly buy anime if the prices went down just a little bit but the problem is that the anime industy knows that nowdays anime is like an trend which many people is hooked onto and they know that they can make money out of it. I mean why should one dvd with Naruto be more expensive than an high quality dvd from disney which is spent hours and hours on I mean when buying anime you more than once will end up buying fillers after fillers.

i don't understand what u mean.
how does streaming here affect the anime industries in japan?
when an anime is licensed an american company has rights to the anime. if these companies go out of business, it doesnt mean anime is disppearing since they aren't the ones making it.

I don't understand why you quoted me, but I'll answer the qestion.

Lets look at the big picture. If the majority of anime fans watch anime for free than spending money on dvd's. Most likely it would be harder to produce more anime. In America anime companies are going to shit because we don't buy enough dvd's. Look at Geneon USA and ADV. If the American companies get shut down than we would not be able to buy animes in America. You are probably going, "So, I can watch it stream gvwuiejnaw". You might be right, but Anime Industry would go to shit as well if the companies in America were bankrupt.

Eh, I am to tired to type anymore <_<

Well honestly speaking, there are plenty of series I'd buy box sets of (Bebop, GitS, Mushishi, 12K, etc.) but funding problems are a bit of a concern, especially seeing as how the older a series gets, the higher the price goes up. Besides, digital media is far more convenient than physical media, and I've yet to encounter any series that I've downloaded with serious (or even minor for that matter) encoding issues.

I think they should make more figurines to combat the issue. I spend tons of money on their figurines even though I don't buy the series on DVD. Actually, if they sold only the Japanese original DVDs with a small figurine or two, I'd buy. I just loathe the American dubs, that's why.
Why can't I give money directly to the original Japanese companies, then? Why do I need to help the American companies suck more money out of us? : P

When you buy it you support the licensing companys not the makers (i believe they just get a 1 off paymen upon selling the liscense) and lets see what they do;

A) Overcharge
B) Either never broacast it or
i)Broadcast a censored, dubbed version.
ii)Broadcast it at stupid times (and dubbed)
C) Take ages to release it
D) Some seem to try to hide it lol I have NEVER seen a code geass dvd and shopping online comes with long waits for it to arrive.

Now hands up who cares if these guys go out of bussines.

It could only be a good thing for us since we would be able to watch anime online again and while we aren't supporting the creators we never were doing anyway (unless you are fluent in japanese and import the origional dvds which I bet most of us aren't).
