Infinite Undiscovery

Infinite Undiscovery (インフィニット アンディスカバリー, Infinitto Andisukabarī?) is an Xbox 360 game being developed by tri-Ace and published by Square Enix.

Wiki - It is set to contain 10 years worth of ideas from Yoshiharu Gotanda and is being designed "with the thought that the Xbox 360 would be able to realize our plans." It is set in a world that changes in real time, with players choices leading to "unknown discoveries," explaining the reason behind the name of the game. According to tri-Ace, "RPGs will undergo a true evolution." a trailer was shown at TGS 2007, and several pictures and videos can be found at YouTube.

IGN - Infinite Undiscovery a fantasy RPG developed by tri-Ace for next-generation hardware. Players are drawn into a real-time world woven of countless threads where their choices will spin untold discoveries.

Players are confronted with a variety of situational battles, such as executing a daring escape while a gigantic ogre follows in hot pursuit, or waging battle amidst towering tidal waves. The environments change and respond in real-time to player commands, while combat, exploration, and other actions all take place within the same environment, seamlessly shifting between each game facet.

Release Dates

It is confirmed that Square Enix is trying to get close to a simultaneous release date world wide. On September 2 the shipment will be sent to the United States, and on September 5 the shipment will be sent to Europe. The date that it will be put on shelves is unknown, but assumed to be closer to the Japanese release date of September 11.

Characters

The game makes use of 18 characters throughout the story, though you can only have 4 to a party at a time and only have complete, direct control of Capell. It has been suggested there could be as many as 10 party members on screen at once, though it is not yet clear how this will work. The names are officially romanized on the official japanese site.

Capell- Mistaken for Sigmund the Liberator, this young minstrel is imprisoned by the Order of Chains. Lacking the qualities of a hero, even his captors doubt his identity. Although he wants to remain uninvolved in the turbulent events surrounding him, it seems fate has something planned for this reluctant hero. Capell lacks a glyph, a symbol most humans have somewhere on their person, and is considered bad luck because of it. His English voice actor is done by * Yuri Lowenthal

Aya- After Capell is tossed in prison, she rescues him, thinking that he is Sigmund the Liberator. However, after a short while she realizes Capell isn't Sigmund, but rather a minstrel who bears an uncanny resemblance to him.

Sigmund- The Liberator for whom Capell is mistaken, the trailer suggests he is something of a role model to Capell ("When you find something to believe in, fight for it").

Eduardo- A cool headed man who wields a large sword.

Roka and Luka- Young spell-casting twins, one male and one female.

Mirche- A seductive looking woman who uses books to cast spells.

Eugene- A knowledgeable looking man, he uses a staff in battle.

Balbagan- A large man who wields a battle axe, he accompanies the liberation army to settle a score with Leonid, who he once lost a match to.

Leonid- The man who was enslaved the moon with chains, he is seen as a protagonist.

Infinite Undiscovery looks good but if you have the opportunity to play FF13, FF Versus, and Kingdom Hearts 3, it would be a better option to get a PS3. 360 is getting some good RPG's such as this one above, Tales of Vesperia, and Star Ocean 4, however I would choose the Final Fantasy's and Kingdom Hearts over them if it were me.

It looks OK I guess...if I hadn't already been informed, I wouldn't think Square had anything to do with it just on this first impression. I might read up on it a little more, it actually doesn't look all that good to be honest, might save my money for something worthwhile like

...Holy Shit did I hear someone mention a Star Ocean 4? I am SO there.
