Friends and family can get away with a lot of things, but murder isn't one of them. Ironic timing here. The local news is talking about a guy who was murdered in my small town. A group of five people broke into his house, beat him, and finally shot him. Over what? Who knows. The only "good news" to come out of it is that they have the group in jail and they're following one or two other possible leads. There's no way to excuse that kind of crime. Now if we're talking about self-defense, well, you have a right to defend yourself and if that means that you have to kill your attack(ers) to survive then that's what you have to do. That's pretty extreme though.

The percentage of human beings that could kill someone and continue doing so is near 1%. All the bad stuff you hear about on the news does not describe every 'murderer' out there. Everyone is capable of murder, but hardly anyone is capable of mass murder. The amount of regret a person has to live with after killing another is absolutely unbearable on the mind, most would never ever in a million years even consider doing it again, as anger or accidental violence can cause a person to reach that limit. I would seek that person psychological help to get over the trauma. I would not allow them to be locked up in a cage like an animal just for acting on human emotion.
