girl meets boy. boy falls in love with girl. girl is weak and insecure and goes in circles with boy until boy snaps and hurts girl's feelings, thus making boy feel guilty, eventually leading to a confession. dont get me wrong, im a sucker for the "I LOVE YOU"s and the surprise kisses...but i get so aggravated when the girl is so weak.

i HATE overly inecure girls. they always get brainwashed so damn easily.
THEY ANNOY ME LIKE CRAZY!!!!!
and y is is that no matter where the girl is running, somehow she always finds a way to fall on her face and end up right smack dab in the middle of danger?

oh yea and this: so its a misunderstanding right? u see it is. but yet u still let the person walk away misunderstanding everything. then u mope about it???? WTF?????

-Some tsundere character falls in love with the clumsy, happy-go-lucky girl.
-Main character is always saved at the last minute
-FILLERS!
-Unrequited love
-Fangirls fawning over some boy at school
-School festival episodes

Remember, these are cliches, not things that happen in every single anime.

omg i hate when:

a character does some kind of magical transformation and whatnot and it takes so long and the enemy just waits.

every episode the same thing basicly happens (sailor moon, and shugo chara for like 5 episodes)

and so many others

those cold lone-wolf types are so common...like sasuke from naruto, kanda from d.gray, and yuki nagato from haruhi suzumiya no yuutsu. no offense to fans of these chars, but they do tend to be too cliche.

ok:
- using simplistic drawings during some slap-stick humor scene
- one character loved by everyone else
- previously unknown abilities
- the last of something (last of a school, last of a race, etc)
- ridiculous strength with thin arms
- the standard children show villains (there's always: one huge strong guy, good looking underestimated guy, badass you find out is a girl, relatively beefy guy with long hair, etc)
- hackney romance (it just sort of happens, random crush, relationship based on uncomprehensable appeal, etc)
- the mysterious guy
- the sort of rival/ally
- the locked power of the main character
- cat-like girls
- that one random talking creature thing
- the fact that the antagonists always get increasingly stronger, not matter how close to a god the last was
- I agree with hapless guy in harem
-I agree weird hair color
-hundreds more

-_- thats basically any anime you can find
how would you want anime to be then? exactly like real life? anime allows a person to escape from reality and indulge in fantasy and calms or excites a person. take out everything you said and it would simply be boring

I watch anime for story, art, and emotion. The list I mention does remove 80-90% of animes, but that's because 80-90% of nearly all media wont appeal to me. There's uindoubtably a different 80-90% that you don't like. The list I made I feel are more than just cliches, there's cheap story tools used to cover up weak story or character design. Removing these things would make it something different than most shows: original.

OK, I simply cannot feel against that post because you obviously like Chi's Sweet Home and I love the show for some reason.

AMNESIA!

why do anime characters have to get amnesia?its so annoying!plus another cliche which im not sure if i like or not is when one girl or one boy have more than 5 of the opposite gender chasing after them!

FILLERS!

is that a cliche?well if its not,i still don't like em...lol

but there are cliches that are cute sometimes...keyword:SOMETIMES

I have feeling you'd like Kure-nai, if you haven't seen it already - basically none of those stereotypes are present and story is involving, not to mention it has realistic characters and one the most believable dialogs ever written.

I always think it happens in like a split second, but we (the viewers) get to see this fictional transform sequence purely for eye-candy reasons.

That doesn't really diminish the fact that they're all smoking characters and ended up dying.. (especially since I'm guessing they don't all die of lung cancer)

Yeah that's true the examples were too few anyway I got over 10 counterexamples from finished series.
They die in a fight or shortly after.

But for noir/western like Animes it seems to be more accurate but those gernes need such characters.
Didn't saw "Noir" but I guess it also got such a character even the main chars are female.

Got 2 other clichés:

Nosebleeding when a male character sees/images a female character posing / semi-nude / nude etc.

(More or less) Most characters don't die on the spot in/after a fight, they got a "dying speech" (For real in such a state it's hardly possible to moan)
