For two of them I was awake (novacaine), all you feel is pressure. The other 2 they put me to sleep because it was in a weird position. All of them hurt after the pain medication fades away.

Well, I don't like to scare people, but... HA! What am I saying, I love to scare people. JK.

Anyways, I haven't had mine removed yet, but my older brother did. He was a mess. He came out of the room acting like he was drunk, and me and my mom pretty much had to carry him to the car. We went home and he couldn't eat, he was acting all sick, andl...well it was bad. He can't remember any of it though, so I guess it's fine. But be careful, after the surgery my brother rinsed out his mouth and got dry socket. He seemed to be in a lot of pain from it.

Although someone I know had her Wisdom teeth removed too and she seemed perfectly fine later the same day, so I guess it varies from person to person.

Good luck, and don't worry. It'll be fine whatever happens.

In August, I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed and I'm really nervous. Everyone talks about how painful it is and how much i'll hate it.

What's it actually like? Can anyone that's gone through it offer up some advice?? Does it hurt that bad?

I'm really worried because I know that a girl from my school had a pretty serious reaction to the surgery and had a seizure. scary scary. but if i don't do it, my teeth will be shoved out of alignment.

I'm getting mine removed as well.. I worry for the future..

i kept my wisdom tooth intact, since i lost one of my chewing tooth (from an ab competition) so my teeth wont get shoved to dis alignment, the only problem is though that gums from where the wisdom tooth is growing is really painful sometimes, and both of my left and right wisdom tooth has halve of it already grown.. and it hurts sometimes..

I took it when I was13 or 14. Great experience. Actually you just sit on the dentists chair while he prepares you putting some things on your mouth to keep it opened, puts some liquid around your face to protect from bacteria or whatever and does anaesthesia on your mouth with a syringe. that's the only part it hurts because of the needle. After that he starts opening your mouth in the place the teeth should be and takes it out. I felt some pressure because it's quite hard to take the teeth, in my case my dentist had to cut off one of the teeth in two pieces so he could take them easily. If you don't feel scared about going to the dentists there's nothing to worry about. Besides, you'll get a whole week just on ice cream, milhshake and other delicious stuff...good luck although i don't think you're gonna need it =)

I've only had one (impacted) wisdom tooth removed because it was growing horizontally and was pushing against my molar. Very painful as I used to go through a packet of ibuprofen a day!

I had 4 shots of local anaesthetic and eventhough I could still feel the surgeon pulling and tugging the tooth out, the pain was bearable.

The swelling only lasted a couple of days though.

I've had two impacted wisdom teeth. They both hurt like holyshitfuckmurder since the tooth's nerve was exposed in both cases. It hurt a lot more than the removal process. Basically what they did to me both times was to take a needle with some sort of numbing agent, stick it in the gum area above the affected tooth and then removed the tooth while I was awake.

depends where in the mouth it is the more to the back of the mouth the bigger the root therefore the more its going to hurt..when mine came out it did hurt but yeah

ouch....the dentist will probably put it to sleep first, but the needles are scary and the numbness might not go away for a while...
