Most of what I know about Ancient Egypt comes from Stargate and The Mummy.

Ra (God of the Sun) and Apophis (The Serpent God) were locked in eternal struggle. During the day Ra would ride across the sky, bringing light to the world, but at night he would fight the evil god Apophis for control. When he won he would ascend to the sky again and bring a new dawn. If he ever lost then there would be no light for the rest of eternity.

FUN FACT: There's an asteroid approaching Earth that astronomers have named Apophis. It will have three chances to collide with the planet and wipe out life as we know it. In the Stargate SG-1 storyline the Goa'uld Apophis, named after the Egyptian god, tried to destroy Earth three times.

Ok, first things up! Iv been to Egypt. Went for three weeks. And know alot on it. 1. Hebrew slaves did not build the three great pyramids of the giza plateau. It was all of egypt that help in its making. In saquarra, ( wich is to the left of the giza plateau) they found remininces of manny eating ( cafeteria's) and worker houses. 2. They did worship animals. Actually, they had gods for everything. Among the most famous is Osiris ( king of the underworld, brother of Seth and his sister/wife) or Râ ( the sun god) there were also Seth ( God of destruction), Hourus ( son of Osiris), Anubis (God of inbauming). 3. Modern day Egypt is a very cool place to go to if you are not from the US. (no offence, they just don't support thr war). The people are frendly. They will talke to you. They are very well educated for the most part because some of the kids I met there knew five languages. The onley people that are annoying are the ***(MERCHENCE/ SELLERS) or anything to do with buying. Be aware!! they are like smart banks. They know how to do business! 4. Modern day Egypt has a very interesting political system. I'ts suppost to be a kind of democrasy, but everythime there are elections, there is foul play. The current president ( Mouparak) is the (dictator) for now. If you ask any egyptian who was the best leader, they will tell you that it was (Sedat). This president did alot for Egypt, but he was assasinated and (Mouparak) who was second in command, took his place. The good thing that Mouparak did for Egypt is that he build the Famous Aswan Dam. 5. A lot of people are poor but there are a lot that are rich. Since the mane econiomic factor is tourisim, there are a lot of people that own hotels. Not to mention all the satelite dishes they have on there streets. Everyone has got a tv in Cairo and in terms of population, that city is the second biggest city in africa after (i think) Dubaï. 6. Places to visit: ALEXADRIA. Its like the rotterdam of Egypt. All the young people and students are mostly there. I played grand theft auto next to an egyptian and he was suprised to see me in a local internet café. Cairo, of course is really cool to go see and the Kan al-kalili market is awsom for buying shisha's (houkas/ nargilles) and the National Egyptian Museum is just unreal. They don't even have enough space to store all the artifacs, so there making a new museum. Cruise on the nile. Cham-al-chek ( club med of egypt, but kinda too touristy) try staying more in the north unless you are on the cruise. Abu-Simbel and others. This pretty much describes the wonderful land of the gods!!! (I'M not Egyptian, I like it alot though) The best is to go with EF Tours, they got it good and for a reasonable price of 4000$ Canadian. I went with like 7 Guys from BC and 20 Hot chicks. (It was memerable)

Other importanting thing about Ancient Egyptian was"Make Up". Women and men used make up.
- Eyes were rimmed, eyebrows were painted and lashes were darkened with a black powder called kohl.
- The red cheek powder was called ochre.
- They used a dye called henna to redden their nails and hair.
- They mixed powdered minerals with oil to get colors.

The last one is Beauty tip from The Queen Cleopatra "Milk Bath". Untill now many people still use it ........

Wow! This is really cool. What you've just said is not written in the book that i am reading.

I am so amazed with the reviews of everyone. I'm here to read posts - i will post my review as soon as i finished the book.

To this day, no one can build a perfect pyramid the way the Eygptians did. Not even using technology such as bulldozers!

^We can but we cannot. Million of slaves suffered and died in building those pyramids - they even worked overnight. Human labor today is limited - we cannot push people hardly - even with the help of technology cos human rights as well as the labor code will be violated.

^ Like i said, i don't want that Eros.

Talking about Cleopatra... They said that shes not as pretty as we think she is. They found an acient coin where her head was engraved on it, and it looks like she had a prominent pointy nose...like Margaret Thatcher...

iLL get the link for that...

Lol we did a sort of essay about her in grade 9 using an excerpt from some writing that says Cleopatra is not beautiful at all but the men back then admired her wisdom and...."sex appeal" ...hehe weird. It also said that since leaders make statues identical to themselves, they found one which is a female and has cobra on her....i think its a crown or something...head. And they did find a whole room filled with it. Kinda makes you wonder how the world ended up like this...too caught up with external beauty lol.

we don't know who built the pyramids cause calculations don't add up

I don't get what you'd have to calculate... I'm no mathmatician but I used you build miny pyramids with my legos all the time.

The pyramids use math in a lot of surprising ways. They also incorporate science and astrology. For example, the Great Pyramid was built to have a relationship with a circle. Most of us know that a circles circumference is 2 * pie * radius, the height to perimeter ratio of the pyramid is also 2 * pie * height = perimeter. This figure is estimated by modern means to be accurate to five decimal places. In addition to that the Great Pyramid is also almost perfectly aligned with true north (to about an inch).

pyramids are built with techniques that are unknown of now
leviatation - making things and ppl float in mid-air
i suggest few priests are able to do it

or they probably were approached by aliens
who aided them to civillisation
as their criteria in an evaluation in their standards
