@xce91: The only thing I could think of would be your internet connection is the cause of your lag or your computer is so damn powerful, your computer warps time/space causing your mates in your clan to be in the past.

Also, it seems like you have the money to spend so why only 667mhz DDR2? Why not go for 800mhz or even 1066mhz? Heck even 1333Mhz? Even go for 1666MHz. Sorry if that was rude to talk about your financial disposition.

Oh yea, xce91, I forgot to add that XP won't fully recognize your 4GB unless it's the 64bit version I believe.

10 Megabits? That's darn slow if it's shared. You sure you don't have DSL or something? Maybe you are referring to the network speed pal. If you are using a network for say your family to access the internet, just upgrade it to either a 10/100 or even a 10/100/1000Mbps. I think it could be your router or network devices.

Man with your set up, you might as well go with a faster ram speed. 800mhz DDR2 should be the minimum because it seems you are not worry about the electric bill lol.

About the XP and ram thing, it's an issue that some people have. The computer will recognize the entire 4 gigs but XP won't. I forgot if XP(32-bit) could only recognize it up to 3.5 gigs or so. Open up Control Panel and then the System. Look at how much ram XP could recognize.

Sounds like wireless. Try switching to 802.11n instead of 802.11b/g. Or is that something like a neighborhood free hotspot?

^^ no idea dude my friend does the networking I just agreed to pay half the bill anyone here got Ati graphic cards here or ever tested them against nvidia 8800 ?

[email protected] No biggie man. But ask him to upgrade you network speed. It really does sound like you have a wireless network. Also that speed should be sufficient. Ask him whether it's open to the public or is it secured so that only you and/or family could use it. Also, wire networks are still faster but it's more hassle imo. You have to deal with cable.

As for ATI v Nvidia, 8800 series are hot but pricey. ATI are much more affordable though they can't meausre clock to clock I say. Although I think ATI's RV3870 could give the 8800 a run for the money or so.

Darn it helyania, you ruin the mood again lol.

thanks for that I just got offer'd a trade >.> from a friend wanting to swap for his
ATI FIRE GL V7350

Wait an ATI Fire GL? Hang on pal.

Oh and whoops, I meant an ATI R3870.

You can say that the Fire GL 7350 was 2 generations ago. It utilizes the same core as the Radeon X1800 XT I believe. It can't compare to a 8800 series card but it is much better than a 8600GT or GTS. So you could say it's performance is around the 7800GTX. I suppose it's still a good card but make sure you get a third opinion on it.
Posted 1/3/08
^^ If you compare the price on 2x Nvidia 8800GTX 768MB to
1 ATI FIRE GL V7350 1gig

you get about 500 GBP difference in my favor but hell with 1 card >.>
