so i really wanna hear your thoughts on this!!!

I know a couple that are having a long distance relationship, he lives in England and she lives in Canada, they met and they keep in touch even though the long distance, and now they are moving to live together in canada and getting married

Frankly speaking, I'm kind of disillusioned about long-distance relationships right now. (My boyfriend just graduated and his whole family went to the States for his dad's business trip, and even though it's been about two weeks, not one word.)

Well, I really think whether things last or not depends on the couple, how faithful they are to each other and to how they feel about each other even if they can't talk all the time or do anything together. It also has to do with whether they're organized enough to send e-mails or letters, because otherwise they pair would gradually not know the other person - that would really wreck the relationship, even if it kind of lasted.

Sorry to categorize people - and insult my (ex-)boyfriend - people like him won't be able to keep it up. He's a really nice guy, I'm sure of that, but he's also the 'life of the group'-type guy. That means he's really . . . prone to be high? . . . you know, he goes with the flow a lot, does what he wants because it catches his attention. I personally thought there's no way that he'd be able to sit down once a day, or even once a week, and e-mail a girl who's thousands of miles away. There's no real attraction or incentive for him to. Me, on the other hand - I'm a social loser. I'm one of those nerdy girls who never go out socializing (never invited because no one remembers to call me up) and stay out of all the boyfriend-girlfriend/popularity mess. So I'm kind of 'down' - as opposed to high - and somewhat more focused than he is. I could probably keep up a long-distance relationship for a year.

Anyway, sorry this turned into a rant. But it probably just depends on the type of person - and how much each person cares for the other and is willing to do.

some distance relationship works...but in most cases they don't ...i wouldn't be able to have one because i wouldn't be able to see him and i wouldn't have a good relationship with him
