WTF???????? ewwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't like Zac Effron!!!!!! he sucks ass! damn it! why is it dat Asian films always have to be copied by americans? i'm an american too but why are asian films always copied? like the grudge & da eye & deep water & e.t.c.

forget zac efron ! even if he wasnt in d movie (its only rumoured) the movie will ass rape the series...they will ruin it no matter what or who plays Light..ryuk...or L....................................

im not saying that i hate zac efron, but if he is cast as light, i can imagine him acting completely different from the light from the manga. and hopefully the director and writers wont change and ruin the plot D:

the grudge and the departed were the only.."decent" adpatations..the others such as My sassy girl,the eye..are certiied crap..gawd knows if theyd get lucky wid DN..but i dont wanna risk an entirely awesome series..

Why? Another case of the US taking something from another country and trying to improve on it. I hope this doesn't work so people realize that we just shouldn't mess with original ideas from other countries. Oh ya I hope Akira fails miserably also.

LOL i agree that theyll change the plot, but im just hoping that they'll still keep the important parts in the movie. and i dont think that the american version will be "crappy"- it's just that the people who've seen the original anime, movies and manga will think its not that great. but for non-manga readers, the death note movie will probably be somewhat decent - its sorta like the harry potter series. those who've read the hp books and seen the movies will think that the books are a lot better, but for viewers who haven't read the novel, they usually find that the movies are "okay".

no please don't make an American version of Death Note!! it will ruin everything >=[
