I have not read the manga so I can't speak on that

The Japanese version was really bad. The female lead spent the whole series screaming and whining.

ISWAK, hands down. It was well done and had Ariel Lin

reall theres a japanese version of iswak??i haven't seen it

what is the title??..pls tell me thanks

Itazura na Kiss. It's really old which is why many haven't heard of it

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Itazura_na_kiss

It didn't have the charm of ISWAK. And the characters weren't as likable and compelling. I think the fact that it was so short (Only 9 episodes) didn't allow for it to develop as much as it should have.

Also, there were many parts in ISWAK where you were able to feel Joe's reluctant feelings developing towards Ariel. You saw him progress from dislike to love.
That's not the case with Itazura. He really didn't show any feelings other than dislike for her...until like 5 minutes before the show ends.

I didn't like it but give it a try. Plus, this version actually does begin with a kiss

The website that I saw it in took it down because Doremii complained. There are some episodes on VEOH

I would have to say that the Taiwanese version is better. I've watched the Jap version and I liked it as well, especially the ending scene, but there were certain things that annoyed me about the characters. I found myself distracted by the lead actresses huge ears. I wanted to tell her to brush her hair forward to hide them. And her yelling and screaming at Irie-kun got really annoying. A tad over-acting! And the little brother was really annoying at times, really rude to Kotoko. But it did have some good points, like when Kotoko stood up to Irie.

Yeah, so at least in The Taiwanese version the lead actress wasn't overly annoying. She brought realism to the character. And I liked the closeness between the two families living together. Great show. Glad they made a sequel.

i bought both jap and taiwanese version of the drama. but i like the taiwanese version more. I guess because the japanese version's female lead is not good to the eyes.. (sorry for saying it, it's like the ella and maki in hanakimi discussion). Besides Ariel Lin is good at portraying the lead girl. But i have to say that the lead guy in the japanese version is much more handsome than the taiwanese version. Both are good in acting so cool and really cold.

I havent read the manga yet so i couldnt say which one i like better.. hmm... let me see the manga..

^^i can pretty much relate to what you're saying especially w/ ur opinion w/ the male leads ... i actually dislike the female lead in the jdrama so, it'll be taiwanese version for me
