I offer a drink, nothing kills an awkward silence like the drink.

When there is a akward silence, you half to whisper something quietly like, "psst did someone jus fart?"

I don't even think it's akward, just everyone else. Man what happened to the days where you would just have stare-downs without saying a word. I mean I can go hours not saying a single word with someone but having a blast. But apparently it's only normal if something is coming out of your mouth every second.

The only time it's weird is when ur on a bus or train or something and there are people on the seats that face directly at you and are only like a foot apart from you, and even though you could talk to them, you don't want anything to do with these people because what's the point in talking to them.

I usually say 'well this is awkward' which isn't a god idea because it just makes the situation even more awkward

Hehe, the best awkward silences are always the ones that happen after times when its very loud.
I usually laugh (thats, with my friends) and then we talk about something.
Strange, after every awkward silence, the first topic that comes up (even if its just with your friends)
everyone seems to start talking about it..

Agree, it's never awkward for me when I sit with my friends for hours (like maybe a bus ride or w.e.). We don't feel uncomfortable at all. I think the reason I create those awkward silences is because I don't think I have to keep talking every second (that's kind of annoying), I like to be concise and cut the convo short. People always feel like I'm shy because I don't like to talk too much, which is not true...
