I have a tendency to zone out, especially when I get an idea in my head. Once an idea hits me, it's hard to keep up a conversation. I've even walked away during a conversation without realizing it once. These days, I've managed to keep that to a minimum though. Sometimes during those moments, I'd think of something unique to say such as, Ostracized Obstinate Ostriches Organize Olympic Ornaments. Then the conversation will always go on a tangent from before.

	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 8/13/09 I despise awkward discussions, they're so annoying. They usually appear out of no where when you're having a conversation with someone you barely know, don't really like or feel nervous around. When it's between a group of people I'll usually do something random like hum some tune outloud or quickly think of something to say... even if it has nothing to do with what we were talking about. Anything to get rid of an awkward silence to be honest.

I would manufacture them on purpose just to make the other person feel uncomfortable. Like for instance if my brother brings home a friend and he leaves him in the front room with me for a moment I would say something random or make some sort statement and just sit back and watch their face. They usually stare at the T.V. pretending to be interested by whats on . After a while I turn of the TV and just sit there staring at them in silence. Its so fun because you can tell who the real interesting people are from awkward silences, sometimes I get into really fascinating conversations with people because the unexpected happens during these silences
