the meaning of names in shugo chara
Posted 6/26/08
do you know the name meaning of all characters in SC??
here is wht i kno
i'm separated the name of Ikuto... and got something like that:

Iku = go
To = with/and

Tsuki = moon (im sure of this but i somehow can't verify it)
Mori = wood

Ran - water lily
Miki - beautiful tree/three trees

Mai (the girl from the ballet episode/chapter) - dance

Yoru - night (I think)
Tsukiyomi is a god in Japanese mythology... I forget what it's about though. Must ask Sky
maybe Tsukiyomi was God of the Moon
Ami - friend
Oh, and Rima means "rhyme" or something.

And Kairi was ... "ocean"?

Nadeshiko's name.. it's the name of a flower, isn't it?

Kiseki = Marvelous; miracle

Hotori might mean "fire bird"..

Yoru is night.

Hina actually means small but this kanji..日奈 means something else.

Mori means forest..

Midori(amu's mother) means green

Tsumugu, Ami and Amu is in hiragana so they're just names I think.

Kairi might mean the inside of the ocean because 海里 translated into chinese is 'hai li' means the inside of the ocean.

Himekawa (Maika): Hime is princess and kawa is lake..

I only think Amu is a part of 'Amulet' maybe that's why she's Amulet. {heart, spade, clover, whatever}

"Amu" means "asian dream".

I'm sure that "Ami" means "asian beauty."

Ikuto's name is kinda odd....the "iku" part means "how far" or "how many" and the "to" means "Big Dipper." Yeah, okay. XD

"Tsukiyomi"...um the "tsuki" definitely means "moon" and the "yomi" can mean "poem" or "song".

"Tadase" means "one world". "Kuukai" is "sky" and "ocean" respectively.

I looked up "nadeshiko" and it seems to mean "pink". I don't think Yaya's name means anything.

"Utau"..."uta" means "song" but the "u" means "songs with samisen" and sorry but I don't know wtf that means. XD;

it's not MINE i repeat NOT MINE
i took it from >>>

On wiki, they say that ran, miki, and suu are named after members of an old girl group. Is that right?

And Tsukiyomi as all one word means somethig as well, because it has a translation in another anime spelled the same. It means Dark Moon or someting strange like that.

Suu (or Su, whichever) is an American name so I don't think there's really a translation for it.

Well, just by hearing a name doesn't mean it's always spelled the same. I'm not critisizing you because you could be right, but it's possible. I mean, if you change the spelling of Molly to Mollie, you still have the same name right?

Their names have relations to their characteristics.. (I'm sure everybody noticed that) When I typed "utau" in a translator, it said "to sing". Anyway, thanks for telling us these. ^,^
