dang, when are Asian artists coming here????
(well, DBSK shot a CF here but that doesn't really count... and the SM entertainment folks shot 2 MVs here...)
isn't the Philippines getting a bit behind with the Asian music???
I mean, not everybody knows BoA here, and she's Asia's Pop Princess...!!!
well, anyways,,,, I hope SuJu and all other korean artists come here... I wanna see HeeChul and KiBum!!!!!!

I'm looking forward to the 5th!!!! I hope the parents allow me to go!!!!!!
^^

I don't think that we are really behind with the Asian Music, it is just like Filipinos admired western music more than our neighboring country's music. Besides, Filipinos specially teenagers often listen to alternative rock or sometimes go into EMO songs (though until now I don't know still how it differs from ballad ) And most of those asian music are pop/RnB. Have you heard Pop icons in the Philippines still popular today? I don't think there is even one exists. Or maybe those artists with great background and much popularity back then, but rising pop singers...I don't think there's still someone waiting to be known.

That is what I think.

On BoA, sorry to say but I don't know her that much too. I've known her when Grace Lee interviewed her for "the sweet life" segment where Grace went to Korea.

Super Junior Mandarin or Super Junior M or SuJu M or SJM is another sub group of Super Junior aside from SuJu KRY, SuJu T and the new sub group, SuJu H...
it has 2 new chinese members, Zhoumi and Henry...but they are not official members of Super Junior13...
there are 4 sub groups all in all...
>its okay that you ask stuffs...

well, yah, I agree with you on that...
the majority of Filipino people just can't appreciate Asian music as much as western music... (like in myx's myx int'l top 20,,, there isn't even one Asian song there... )
yah,,, no really pop singers here... if they were they'd be trying too hard... :P
the only famous music here aside from the western songs are those bands and the other people who call themselves singers but are just really using their popularity to gain their songs some attention... (no offense... )

To be honest, if Filipino is still in boy bands era just like before. There is a chance of them to be known here, not that big though, aside from the fact that they are not western bands and there is a language barrier.

Yeah, agree with those people who call themselves singers, but they aren't really born with natural talent on singing and didn't even try to train their voices for it. Those artists who have albums but never been into singing before but are actually popular as actors. (peace!) **off thread topic**

I guess, a good romantic/comedy drama (just like hana kimi taiwanese version; meteor garden; full house) might be the golden ticket in order for them to visit us here. Wu Chun is said to land in the Philippine's shore this July, and f4 have been here a couple of times before, we have seen numerous concert performances of Rain, him having a commercial, a daily myx countdown song.

That is the only thing I can think of right now. though it is sad to say that they are singers and performers not actually actors.

I think the reason why KPOP groups and singers don't come to the Philippines is that they are not feeling enough love from Filipino fans, I'm sure a lot of you know that KPop groups and singers or Hallyu Stars (Korean WAve) often visits places like Thailand and China, JApan etc. where they are actually very popular, where fans actually wait for hours before the concert, even when it rains;crying,fainting..etc. you all know how it goes every fangirls know. Those companies who manage popular K-POp groups like DBSK +SM Entertainment+ , likes sending their stars to those places especially because they can earn lots of money from concerts etc...It's very uncommon for Filipino teens to form fanclubs and such, and I mean Big fanclubs like CAssiopeia. F4 was very popular in the philippines for awhile because they got exposure from their drama Meteor Garden which was very popular, but then they're popularity in the country didn't last as long,I didn't find any filipino F4 fanclubs on the internet and while it's not uncommon in South Korea to have computers and internet in every household only small percentage of filipino teens actually have the luxury to have computers and internet connection in their homes you can't function well as a fangirl if you don't have internet and computer :D. ,Parents don't just give away money that easily either for them to go to internet cafes. In South Korea they even go as far as working extra jobs just to go to concerts without asking their parents any money. Well, I'm not saying we all need to be crazy fangirls but we know they just have to feel the love. I know it sounds cheesy but it needs a lot of loyalty and devotion to be a fangirl...hahahaha Maybe they'll come visit the Phillipines for vacation but I don't see concerts and fan meetings coming anytime soon they need a lot of fans for that to happen...i can understand why some of you are fans of kPop because i don't really know if even BoyBands like Super Junior, Dbsk exists in the philippines the Music industry of the philippines are composed of rock bands, ballad singers etc. and Western music is popular too since it's a country with official languages like tagalog and english, but I've never seen Boybands targeted for teens and old ahjummas...I researched alot on the internet Hope filipino teens gets a taste of KPOP Groups soon..fighting!

well, yah... the only way for the Asian artists to be known is if they film a really successful drama and for the station (either ABS or GMA) to let the viewers know that the leads are from a band or group... then maybe the group will be kind of persuaded to come here...

** I actually don't listen to local songs anymore aside from the bands since they're the only ones who can purely show how much talent they actually have... all the other artists are (no offense) just kind of wasting air time... **

but if ever there is a station who is much capable to make them popular, I'll go for ABS. Since they had their own music channel, a very needed show aside from the drama. Besides those artists I've mentioned came from the ABS network. Though I guess GMA had a bigger chance to make the drama more popular than ABS.

**yeah, me too. I only listen to those bands' songs. Or chances are, those beautiful songs only came from bands, not anymore on singers/individual singer, if there is, only a few can be named.

yah, I'll also go for ABS... for me they're kinda more reliable in a way with giving the dramas a good face here... I remember when I heard the dubbing of GMA,,, kinda bad... haha,,, no offense... it's true, myx can really help coz they can play the groups' songs and make it popular among the "youth" watching... anyways,,, both the stations should look for the more recent, popular dramas (more preferably the ones with popular groups/ members in them) and air it,,,,, that'll make the groups popular here...

**aside from beautiful,,, songs that come from bands are the songs you'd wanna listen to and not make you irritated...**
