The whole show was amazing but the ending was so sad, you shouldn't do that even in an anime I mean first the writer gets you to believe that Shirou and Saber love each other (both show signs of affection) than you think they would stay together until death (the holy grail would be able to grant the wish) and finally just at the very end the writer takes that away from us. Instead of letting Shirou and Saber live together the writer decides to say that Saber wants to go back to her own time so she can die a Kings death and let her soul move on to Babylon (heaven city for Kings, I think it was called babylon I can't really remember) The big problem with this is that Shirou is setting himself up for a bigger heartach because at the end of the season he said he wouldn't stop running until he found Saber once again and we all know from Fate/Stay Night that once someone enters Babylon they stay there and only Kings can enter, now if I am correct in the writters story there are no longer any Kings in the present meaning Shirou can't go to Babylon meaning he can't ever see Saber again which means he will just grow old and die lonely. I really wanted to see Saber and Shirou together in the end but that didn't happen in the anime and I can't get a hold of a copy of the game which means I am left with imagining a better ending but it seems no matter how good I imagin the ending it is never as good as it would be if it were on the show.....Sorry if this revealed anything about the show to anyone its just none of my friends watched this anime so I didn't really have anyone to talk about the show with so I decided to just post it here

1. The place kings go to when they die is called Avalon "All is a distant utopia".
2. They do love each other play the game if you don't believe me.
3. Shirou WANTS to have Saber stay with him, but he knows that is wrong and BECAUSE he loves her allows her to die peacefully.
4. The anime was based 80% off the Fate arc of the game, This was actually the best ending with Saber, In Heaven's feel she becomes corrupted and attacks Shirou and Rin.
5. If you really want them to stay together the Good Ending of Unlimited Blade Works has Saber remain in the world as Rin's servant
6. Shirou won't "grow old and die lonely", in fact he WILL see Saber again. Only as Archer.

Where can you get the game? Is it for a system like Playstation? Is it available in North America?

about how gilgamesh died when saber used her excalibur on him how come there was no blast?

WHERES THE FINISHING BLAST!!

saber was smart to run and charge up her excalibur as (i think) gilgamesh's enuma elish has a longer casting time then excalibur and thats wat caused gilgamesh's downfall

and also it was a good show but i wanted to see archer's UBW and see how it works and the way lancer died was pitiful

Shirou may or may not see Saber as Archer since they are essentially different in the sense that Archer is only a possible future for Shirou. Depending on his choices he may end up taking a different path than Archer did in his lifetime. In which case he already started taking a different path since Shirou was able to convince Saber that she didn't need the Holy grail whereas Archer failed.

If you're unhappy with Saber not being with Shirou anymore, play fate/hollow ataraxia if you don't want to play fate/stay night again, but provided you have a very thorough knowledge of the original.
