Plenty of people believe they have, or at least claim to have, seen God.

Just to be an ass, do you think that just because we can't see subatomic particles, that means they don't exist? You can't very well deny the existence of protons, electrons, and neutrons (well, I suppose you can...), but for millenia, people weren't even aware of them.

If I were you, I wouldn't write God off quite yet.

Neither would we want to say with absolute certainty that he exists.
I wouldn't write "God" on quite yet.

Well, I would, but I'm a religious individual.
I like your counter-arguments at any rate.

In reference to this topic a joke I like;

The Pope dies and goes to heaven, however, beacause he was such a good guy God grants him one wish. The Pope chooses to go down to Earth for one more day. On arriving, the cardinals gather round him and start asking about God.
"Is his big and does he have a beard like in all the pictures we've drawn" one asks.
"Well," replies the Pope, "to begin with... She's black!"

I personally believe that God is "asexual" he is neither male nor female. He's probably spoken of in Masculine form, because throughout much of human history men were the powerful ones, and people could not concieve of God being female (though there have been female deities/God - but never omnipotent ones).
Something that confuses me about my view is that, if God is neither male nor female, how did he come up with the idea of gender and sexuality? (unless you accept that he's all powerful and can do and know everything)

if you read the bible, the verses refers God as a He with a capital H.

And the capital H means God's superiority over us humans.

I think God has no gender. But then it would be very disrespectful to call God an "It" so the Catholic Church, being all patriarchal and all decided to refer to God as a He.

At least that's what I believe

No means of disrespect of course, just that... well, if one were to make it a complete god (provided there was one) shouldn't that it would be devoid of all traits that living thing possess, since it should be endless, not living (provided there was one, and that it wouldn't be a paradoxical one, and that it wasn't an essence-devouring creature that eats all essences of the dead.) Besides, I did place a capital letter on it, right? Oh... and wouldn't it be safer to not base our judgements upon the Bible since it would only be applicable to those of the Christian sect -- since Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and a host of other religions don't base their view of a god on your scriptures?

ACTULLY I beg to differ there maybe something. Adam and Eve... Adam was made first in gods image, or so they say, there for God is a man. He then took a rib of adam to make Eve right?
So by putting this together I've come to the conclusion God (if excistent) is a man.

No. Basically, a man is a person with a penis. God could look like a man but that doesnt make God male. What if God looked like ET(disregarding the whole 'made man in his own image' thing)? Does that make God an Alien? It's just a superficial appearance. If the topic were 'does god look like a man or a woman?', then maybe you'd have a point.

Though either way, you're referencing a story that may or may not be accurate. There are many other books and many other forms of free thought.

Just saying 'God' is a bit broad as it could be many different things.
I think God in the bible is refered to as 'he' because when it was written men were thought to be superior to women. Now people may refer to God as a 'she' because they are stereotypically more motherly like a God would most likely be like.
I thought that religion said that God was not female or a male but a genderless entity. However in the christian (i think) bible it says how Adam was created in the image of God; so that suggests God is either male or has a general human form.
Personally i think that if there is a God then they are a mix of both genders or genderless but still with human traits. By this i mean in personality not looks as was mentioned above. God doesn't have a human form in my opinion. I do in natural speech refer to God as a 'he' though because that is the gender generally used in writings and scriptures.

THat is just really stupid when people say that God is a homo. If something is homo then, it has a specific gender but acts oppositely to it.
