i suppose it parallels to a certain extent
but also keep in mind that the stuff you see in movies is made up. sometimes real relationships end up like that, while other relationships (that are still strong and prosperous) don't.

My answer to the thread title is, FUCK NO.
Fictional love, and a lot of realistic fiction centers around things that happen very, very rarely, and then create a scenario in which these rare occurences happen en mass.
A good example of fictional love not equally realistic love is Shakespeare, there's a lot of love at first sight stuff.

Love to those kids at young age is actually the word infatuation.......
They don't know the difference and use it freely because they are ignorant and naive....

fictional love...just the way it's worded...i don't think it'll ever happen to me... but i wish it would! hehee!

i like the idea of meeting a guy who is my enemy at the very start...and then slowly loving him (and vice versa)! now that's what i call true looooovveee mohohoho

maybe that's why i can't stop watching asian dramas - it's nice seeing that happen in dramas!

okay...back to daydreaming

well this can happen too, but the question is will it have the same ending? in real life there's no such thing as a "happy ever after" ending... There's always a beginning and an ending in a relationship.

some of it can happen in real life but never expect in a happy ending because it will just break your heart... dont believe in destiny because everything that's happening to you is or coming in to your life is what you choose to happen...

Well said. I agree with all of you... Love Hurts, You heal, You try again =\
But its harsh when you find out what ur aiming for was a lie.

I call this the "female syndrome". To explain a little bit further it's a little like this. Females tend to watch an absurd amount of dramas/movies/animes relating to romance. Then they take the information found here and compare it to their lives. Should their lives not match up (and they never will) they proceed to wonder why. They then poke and prod their relationships in an effort to get them to work like they saw on television. This is an effort in futility and it ends up driving guys insane. It's kind of like watching Rocky I, II, III, IV, and V and then assuming all boxing matches are a toe to toe slug fest. There are moments and days where something will happen that is close to an on screen moment. Sometimes a guy will take your breath away or a girl will stop you in your tracks with a smile. For the most part though fictional love is just that fictional, directors, writers, and artists take the most beautiful moments they can think of and throw them together in a combined effort to make every girl on the planet think her guy is failing her in some way.

I think i am one of the young people to be doing this thread buti must say that in my life i have to agree with what he is sayin...real life love is hard work...

I'm a girl and I think that if my love life was of that I've seen in dramas and what not I would have decided to end my life long ago haha. I hate sappy mushy love stories, but I will say if I can get a bitterly sweet ening to my life like I've seen in a drama then i wouldnt be too upset haha.

You'll usually find most of the nice guys to be geeks or nerds and they are usually smarter than their arrogant counterpart.
For women,
I really hate the ones that believe themselves, in their minds, to be better than you or anyone else in almost every single way.
Oh, and those women that say "You can't handle me." is probably one of the funniest things to me.....and is also really annoying.

i just like someone that i can be myself with....where i am not constantly second guessing him or myself. i like geeks too >_<

We prefer the term "nerd", please.

Anyway, I'm a nerd. I love it too. I also love being a dick to make myself happy. I do hate how I act, and those whom I'm mean to, don't take it seriously.

haha, all the guys i've liked are nerds...and some are sports freaks xP

All girls are not the same nor do we want the same things. I like watching romances and etc... but I don't want a relationship like that. I prefer things nice and simple and uncomplicated. Men who fuss over me disgust me. I like to be left alone to do what I want to do, not to be fussed over.

*claps* we have similar types. I dislike scrawny nerdy guys, but athletic nerdy guys rock.
I have to admit that I want "fictional love" at some level. Or at least, I want to be in a relationship with a guy that secretly likes hugs but shows that he hates them. and... someone like Ken Zhu's character in Marmalade Boy. *-* but not Korean soap-esque.

That's why I tend to shield away from most romance dramas (or all of them, unless they got some comedy, I watch for the comedy only -.-") It's too unrealistic for me to swallow.
