Sorry if this thread is a duplicate I did a search but nothing came up with it so I hope there's no duplicate.

I'm not sure how many of you may participated in written role plays, but there are probably some who have here on CR so I decided to make this topic.

Everyone has their different tastes in written role playing if they do role play, some may be advanced well learned role players and others may be beginners. But each have their own pet peeves that annoy them when role playing for certain.

So, what is it that gets you annoyed when role playing with someone? Whether it be how they write a fight scene or if they make their characters insanely strong or "perfect". Or the grammar they use, or if they speak in 1st, 2nd or 3rd person, what is something that annoys you when you participate in a written role play.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I know not everyone may know what online written role playing is so I'll give a quick definition:

For me I dislike it when people have characters that are too strong in fights and even if I let them get a hit, they won't be fair and stop making their character like a god.

I also dislike when people make their characters into people who aren't phased by anything, ever, it makes it hard to create a next post if your character just did something outrageous and the person you are role playing with completely ignored what your character did without any type of reaction even when they get away from your character. Which makes your lengthy post be completely unneeded to get that reaction from them.

let me explain this. . .

you wanna "roleplay" in the internet?

the internet is already full of "roleplayers"

so why bother joining in one of this threads?

Roleplaying is pretty much making a story together with other people, it's not the same as pretending to be a 12 year old girl when you are a 45 year old man on the internet. This is creating a story with other people, writing it and having fun while doing so. Putting your own twists on medieval or other stories or eras, which you can't do in real life. It also surprisingly helps with spelling and grammar.

Sorry if I confused you, this is my first time posting a topic here on CR so I may be trying too hard. I tried to make it easier to understand, though I don't know if it helped much. Sorry.

Actually surprisingly I've known several people who played WoW or Guild Wars and still roleplayed for fun. Role playing isn't like an mmorpg either, it's more of a individualized thing, you can choose more about what happens and you don't have to spend hours leveling up in order to have fun. Though it doesn't appeal to some people because they rather have something more hands on like a game. Usually people who enjoy writing participate in role playing, it's not supposed to be a game type thing. It's meant to be more like a group writing of a book, sort of.

Roleplaying has been around long before the idea of WoW or Guild Wars was even a complete thought. I've roleplayed in the past in online gaming & pen/paper gaming but never really understood why you'd roleplay a forum fight...

I think roleplaying can be fun. Only, with people with no god mode, and no copying characters from existing things like Anime or drama. I personally don't like to roleplay in chats because everyone is always basically saying the same if you're fighting. Things as '' you didn't hit me it was a clone'', '' uses megazord shield to block your poke attack''. Things like that, is really shit and makes roleplaying boring

But, you're talking about an actual story, it might be fun and an interesting read for people who're usually reading them like me. I have nothing against this kind or roleplay.

I've only ever roleplayed a few times, just for the lulz.
It can get annoying when you're in chat rooms though, especially the CR chatrooms.

Well, in chats, personally I hate it when I roleplay with someone and their spellings/grammar are off. For me, it just ruins the mood.... But then again, I don't really enjoy roleplaying that much. <.<
