Lately I've started to realise that this generation is fucked up. There is a huge lack of compassion and empathy and in turn that upsets me sooo much. We have a thread about a girl who has happened to listen to "emo" music and committed suicide and the general response is ... "she deserved it", "anyone who is that stupid is better off dead".

Now what if that was your sister, or brother... is that feeling still shared?

Or am I talking to deadshits with maggots for brains?

Please explain lack of compassion and empathy in our generation

Tell me something I don't know? You've been living a sheltered life or some shit? Funny you're judgements are so superficial

Most of the people in our generation today are cynics. It's hard empathizing with someone knowing that either the situation doesn't concern you or you could care less.

I'll say because news like those are too common to feel emotional about.

its not our job to try and comfort the family and friends of the girl that died...we are only expressing our opinions...most of the people that posted didn't know the girl in real life so its hard to feel "empathy"

Isnt that a worry, death is becoming trivial?

Death is inevitable and death is common, a suicide occurs like every minute and of course if it was somebody in my family I would feel bad about it but crying and feeling bad won't bring him or her back. The best I can do is address this problem to more people and make sure they don't die the same way. There is much lessons to be learned in this world.

This is also the worry, that we are ready to believe what the media has to say and blame a girl for committing suicide instead of question this article or the situation anymore then what the journalist has put down/

i don't really care for suicides...they wanted to die...so why should i feel sorry?

FFS woman what in the hell are you worrying about? You're putting stress on yourself over trivial reasons, in other words you're putting a death sentence on yourself for no reason. The Media is for entertainment nobody takes the words of the Media seriously unless you're an uneducated idiot.

it never blamed the girl..it only directed focused on emo music but never contained anything that suggests it was the girls fault...consider yourself enlightened

let me guess your basing this on the Internet, people dont give a damn about anyone on the internet, as its so common, but when it comes to real life situations when this occurs of course there is empathy and sympathy
