Southern rap was arguably becoming the genre's most popular form. This is due to the mainstream acceptance of the crunk music movement that originated from Atlanta (A variation of Buck Music That originated in Memphis).Rap groups such as Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, the Youngbloodz, and Three 6 Mafia have had massive mainstream success releasing music focused on the ever-popular club scene. DJ Paul and Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia have had a huge impact in the expansion of southern rap.

You are right it is popular but tiring. Hip Hop albums sales been going down I think they said a 30% decrease. And when I turn my televsion on yet I see another one hit wonder Trap Starz when the same generic ass beat. 30 minute hook with 10 second lyrics. If you think this is positive look for hip hop that all we do is club music and our music has no substance in it anymore then your wrong. 10 years from now nobody will remember these 1 hit wonder. There are only like what 5 good southern rappers I can count who actually got some skills. The south is good for beats yes but damn put an artist who can actually rap to them and boom you got a hit. Rather then just hook hook hook.

Yes, let's not forget Dipset either. With the exception of Juelz Santana (who has potential to be better than his Dipset counterparts), Mase and a few others, Harlem has officially followed the bullshit train along with most of the whack artists in the South.

I was born and raised in ATL.....and when i was young hell all I used to listen too was West Coast shit........the little local southern stuff would come on and it was great....but i believe it was time for the south to blow up finally........we have been ignored for so long........Yes, there are some rappers who fuck up and have sorry ass lyrics........and yes, it sucks via snap music, crunk & B........but it's different and all and all I rather her it then go back to listening to West Coast and Up North Music!!!!!

But this is only a minority in New York where this is a majority in the south no disrespect. I live in the south and believe me there are some catz that can spit but they aint getting no air play. Dont get me wrong man I love houston and they screwed up music that shit is hot but seriously like all these lil n***az wanna listen to is, "SHE GOT A DONK N****, SHE GOT A DONK!"

I mean on some real shit lets think about it.

Hip hop was created in the East.
The West Expanded it.
Now the South is killing it.

I forget who wrote that I will be sure to credit him once I find him.

DAMMIT STOP BLAMING THE SOUTH, THE SOUTH IS POSSIBLY ONE OF THE LESSER REASONS HIP HOP IS DYING (maybe im exagerrating a bit) TO ME CORPORATE AMERICA IS THE #1 KILLER OF HIPHOP!!

2. Everybody wanna be a gangsta, hustla, or pimp, THAT COVERS ALL USA

3. if club music is whats hot DEAL WITH IT go to the fuckin clubs every once in a while & see if u still hate crunk music while u in the club

4. Why hasnt the EAST or WEST coast stepped they shit up??? the midwest has, why cant they?
some of them try switchin they style integratin southern swag in they albums,
EX. i respect everything about Ice Cube, but on his last album, remember his single 'Why we thugs' -- did u see the video? -- He went down to H-Town TEXAS, wit a brand new GRILL & had that ugly ass Jony Dang in the video smiling showin a mouf full of ice

5. BET & MTV & radio- reinterate corporate america!

My Point, the South isnt the Only Hand that Stabbded Hip Hop... as Caesar was killed by an entire counsel so is the blood of hip hop has spilled on multiple hands

"To the radio stations, im tired of being patient
STOP BEING RAPPER RACIST
REGION HATERS, spectators
dictators, behind door dick takers
its outrageous!
You dont know how sick u make us
i wanna throw up like chips in vegas
well THIS IS SOUTHERN FACE IT
IF WE TOO SIMPLE,
THEN YALL DONT GET THE BASICS!"
