Note this thread is about the novel, not the manga or anime.
![]() Satou is a 22-year-old college dropout who has become a hikikomori, a paranoid recluse. That is, until he meets Misaki, a mysterious young girl who invites him to join her special "project." Satou slowly comes out of his reclusive shell and his hilarious journey begins. The novel of WTTNHK is what started it all. It follows a similar train of thought to the manga/anime, but in a way it's much quicker, it packs the story into a nicely thought out series of events. With the mini-plots, one of my favorites from the anime "the offline suicide gathering" wasn't there, but instead Yamazaki and Satou infiltrated Misaki's religious group wearing platform shoes, wigs and sunglasses, which was pretty hilarious which was neither in the manga or the anime. The novel is great in the way that you get alot more in touch with Satou's psyche, seeing as it's written in first person, so you're constantly hearing what a crazy deranged lollicon hikikomori has to say and think... |

The thing I like about the novel is that it's the same price as a normal manga, but takes about 20x as long to read. Money to Time ratio = win. |

This is one of those times when i wish i could read Japanese. A lot of light novels is awesome and better than the anime or manga version. NHK manga itself is great and the artwork is nice, one of my favourites. Well, there's something that words can convey better than picture or animation. I hope i will be able read it someday

![]() One question, is it only one volume and it's completed as well? |

Just one complete volume, you'll be surprised at how much it covers. It's very well translated. It's also the same price as one volume of the manga, alot cheaper than buying the whole anime or manga series, lol. |
