sticks don't misunderstand, you cant judge a group by one "member", same way you can't judge an entire "religion" by 1 "elite", in any case putting the archbishop aside, the idea is that we explain the bible we tell the people "what they need to hear" but what is to say they dont just ignore us and walk away, that is Jesus, Jesus affects the heart while we are speaking to the person, who knows I might be talking about david and adultery out of the blue, and thats what the man in front of me went through, You can argue Jesus involvement in it as much as you like but its the same stalemate argument on the fact He even existed.

and what they did wasn't wrong, evangelists are needed, to bring in the masses, in hopes that some will grow, now of course some will slip and fall, others will become luke-warm but the idea is the same as its spoken in the bible, for every one that comes to Christ the angels rejoice.

it took a while to locate but the scripture I am referring to is Hebrews 13: 21 "equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us [1] that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."

The thing is it wasn't just one member doing this, it was a whole group of them and more to the point they are the people who not only decide church policy but are highly public figures who's actions will (and are intended to) influence your average christian. Effectively their actions affect the actions of every single christian in the country. Very worrying indeed.

(Btw Jesus DID exist its a historical fact, however what is disputed is whether or not he was the son of god or not)

Well I don't argue with myself or try to attempt to understand peoples lack of faith, I do remember people questioning rather He truly lived and thats probably where that misinterpretation stemmed. And different denominations of the Christian faith do different tactics, I used to belong to a huge church that would preach only the "good news" and that Jesus loves everyone, and that everyone will goto heaven. they neglected to preach the other half, that those who fall short will goto hell. So where as getting massive amounts of people can be a good thing it has its bad principles as well. Fellowship suffers, also the message suffers and christians do not grow hearing the same thing repeatedly. But the good that comes of it is the more you get the better your odds of one leaving the big church and growing on his own, as I did. And this is nothing new to me sticks, Church heads, do this to keep their church running and bring in new blood. I know smaller churches trying to get the word out and they plan similarily, so its a gray matter in my eyes. Hope this helped.
