I mean, people just say he's emo coz he has black, messy hair and darkened eyes. And so what if he's a little dark and doesn't smile that often? That don't mean he's emo.
In fact, his dark ways are what make him L.

L's smart, caring, and actually smiles sometimes.
L doesn't wallow in self-pity or cut himself, or just sit there, being useless, complaining about this or that..he actually saves the world.
if ur judging him as an emo due to his appearance, then u need to get ur facts straight. how many emo people do u kno wear white and baggy jeans?? most of the emo's i kno, if not ALL, wear black and tight jeans, and lotsa stripes. things of that sort.
L doesn't wear eyeliner either, he just has insomnia.
As for his black hair, he was born with it, it's not something you can really help. He's Japanese, his hair and eyes are black due to genetics.
So in no way is L emo.

well L could be emo... i mean there IS the possibility , he's an imsoniac (can't spell for my life), keeps to himself a lot, ... but there are other reasons why he isn't like how he's really really not emotional and cuts himself...

he may look like it bcuz of his eyebags..but he doesn't dress in black..
and his sitting position is like that bcuz it makes him think better.. (so he said himself, lol)
