Stay in Europe for the amazing land-scapes.

However, we do have a lot of crap that's decent.

I think that most Americans think that, but we actually have some breathtaking places...

Yeah, if you go to New Orleans you still have the possibility of randoming across some dead peeps from Hurricane Katrina, same with Ground Zero in NY. Um, stay away from small military towns nothing to do in those, but if you really want a good time you can always just mess with airpport security (like putting shampoo into peoples luggage and forcing a 3hr jam in the waiting lines). Oh and there are nude beaches in California as well as some really steep dunes where you can waste your time trying to walk up them. Then i believe there are some nudist colonies in Maryland too. Hope that helps.

the Yokohama Friendship Bell at Shelter Island in San Diego Harbor. my avatar is a pic of the bell. every New Year's Eve just before Midnight, a select group of a few score of people go line up to ring the bell. the bell sits on a small concrete island in a duck or lily pond surrounded by a lawn at the west end of Shelter island Drive, and access to it is cut off all the rest of the year by a big water gap. on New Year's Eve, heavy wooden boards are laid across the gap, and as you go forward in line, you wait for people who already rang the bell to come back across, then you step onto the board and go onto the island. there are attendants there to help hold your hand as you step across, and the slight risk of falling into the duck pond while smiling at everyone in sight in the name of friendship makes the whole thing very enjoyable and exciting. the line of Asians and non-Asians extends from clear back to the road, forward clear up the steps to the bell. about every 20 or 30 seconds, the next person goes forward, grabs the rope, and swings the log against the bell with a kind of a heavy TONK sound and the whole area is continuously vibrating with the deep sound of the bell.

Ever been to Sacramento and St. Louis? Some nice stuff there. Though true, Europe has the most amazing views, the only thing I would go there again for is the architechture. The bahamas have the best beaches and open ocean views.
