to me Pride is dead; a standardization of the weight classes, no more yellow cards for inactivity, no more 10 min rounds, strictness on uniform. I don't care what people say, the uniqueness of characters like genki sudo are not going to be able to show who they are anymore. No more big dances that show who the fighters are, instead we are going to get some joe blow in black trunks fighting a tatooed bald guy - i could care less about that fight.

Apparently every fight is now a 'war' in the UFC, which is ridiculous. Another thing that's been bugging me - the octagon. Sure, it prevents fighters from rolling out, or getting caught up in the ropes, but a fight in a ring has something more official about it that the ufc never had.

Sherdog said the tournaments are going to be do be over a few days rather in just one, which sucks but is understandable, I mean no fighter needs to go through 4 fights in a day.

To be honest, I'm starting to follow ICON, bodog, Cage Rage and the like more closely now because the UFC still doesn't have all the major talents like Robbie Lawler

GOD DAMMIT! GSP lost! WTF!? i didn't order the ppv but was following the play-by-play on sherdog and i read serra beat him in 3:25 of the 1st round. Ugh, I have so much respect for both these guys, but it looks like the canadian dream has been lost. I suspect serra won't be able to hold the belt for long and we will see a quick changing of ownership of the belt over the next few months until Hughes comes back to reclaim it (im sorry to say).

Yep it's been the days of upsets of late. Man I wish I put down money...

BTW, a free PPV is up for UFC! Saturday April 21st on Spike TV at 9PM Eastern Time on tape delay from the MEN centre in Manchester, England. A jolly ol' way to have a PPV for free. Later!

If you dont know who brock lesner is look him up. he is the definitation of STEROIDS

He used to be in WWE. I read some articles that after WWE, he was offered to play in a football team but he was suck. So, he went back to wrestling for different organizations and even had matches in Japan.

UFC made history this year . A lot of upsets.

Crocop bent like a ragdoll when he received a knockout high right kick from Gonzaga.
Randy Coutoure had a lot of balls to throw those huge swinging haymakers against Tim Sylvia. I finally saw a fighter [such as Randy] that "bob and weaves" like a pro boxer while fighting a huge opponent.
GSP wasn't able to successfully defend his belt. Now, Matt Hughes and Matt Serra are gonna be the next coaches for the next Ultimate Fighter. I wonder who'se gonna win between them in an actual fight.

Ahhh! I wanna see fighters with different fighting styles. I wanna see a capoeira fighter, kick-ass kung-fu fighter, counter grappler/striker, etc.

Even though mma fights might be considered almost pertain to a real fight between 2 men (in whatever scenario in real life), somethings bother me. Sports like mma, boxing, and others have what you call "subliminal, implicit license to kill". I see some fighters hesitate when they finally in the center stage. They should realize they have this hidden licensed to kill/damage the person to the extreme. I know I can't say all fighters hesitate but rather cautious and calculative to promote maximum damage against their opponent in a short burst. I wonder if those same fighters hesitate when they actually been provoke in a public area (let's say bar).

I have a question: (1) In UFC, could a fighter ddt his opponent to the pavement?

i don't think ddt is a practical move in real life, but in regards to the brock lesnar fight, he was supposed to go against hong man choi, but california denied him a license so it is up in the air at this point who he is gonna face. He will probably be fighting against James Thompson, Tank Abbot, Bob Sapp or Butterbean. Butterbean and Tank need to get the hell out of mma, i don't know why people let these freakshows fight anyways. Tank is amazing in the first minute or so, then he just gasses out, plus all the beer he drinks has gone too his belly.
