So... I guess you are saying that saying "We were all kids once" is supposed to invoke a sense of nostalgia? And therefore make putting up with the crap kids make us go through ok?

I was not speaking on a basis from parent to child. I was referring to us adults making incorrect decisions in the past which we label as childish or something a kid would do. When I said "We were all kids once" I didn't mean literal children, but what makes us adults is the decisions we make for the present and future. So for our past wrongful actions hence I use the quote "We were all children once".
Ah I see I was more speaking along the lines of a lot of parents say "How can you hate kids, after all you were a kid once"

Yea. It would be pointless to tell you something like "How can you hate kids, after all you were a kid once" cause you hate kids and that line would be bullshit to you.

I've never heard of anyone getting rich because of "good genes." There's plenty of people who were born into rich families but ended up poor later in their lives, and people who were born poor and managed to become rich. There's also plenty of rich people who aren't very helpful to society ( a lot of American celebrities) and just leech money from their rich parents/family members. It's also possible that many of those poor people in under-developed countries could be even more useful than many rich people in the world, but they don't have the opportunities to put their talents to use.

Im talking about those people born with good genes that allow them to become rich. If we keep these kinds of people, and remove the idiots, the world would surely be a better place. If youre born into a rich family there is no guarantee you get good genes, but lets say there are two people born with good genes that allow them to get rich. Since they are both rich, lets say the two people meet each other and have a child. Chances are, the child would be born with great genes.

Like when you hear the daughter of two professors being a child genius. Thats the kind of genes I think we should keep.

If everyone became doctors, lawyers, scientists, etc, then there wouldn't be any workers to do all the common jobs that we need done to live comfortably. Even if everyone had these "good genes," there wouldn't be enough money and resources for all of us to be rich, so most people would still have to work at McDonalds, WalMart, etc. All of those "useless idiots" allow you to wear the clothes you have and eat the food you eat and use the computer that you're using, so the world would actually be worse if everyone had "good genes," especially if a majority of them had that same kind of elitist attitude.

BTW: Intelligence isn't genetic, someone can work hard and study a lot and become just as smart as someone who was naturally born gifted.

Well normally speaking the rich intelligent people do not choose to reproduce until their fertility is pretty much nothing.

the red part is flawed idealism . . . . working hard does not give you intelligence, it gives you knowledge

If you read the my first post in this thread, I did say that if the idiots stopped reproducing, the world economy would be ruined . . . the world economy being ruined is synonymous with the part I have highlighted in green

and being extremely optimistic, if everyone was born scientists etc - a solution to the aforementioned problems would surface with relative ease (robots, genetically engineered self growing crops etc.)

That I can agree on. From watching a child misbehaving to then observing the parent restrain the child "We were all children once" is a quote often used to demonstrate the nature of children and how to cope with it. It is viable and sometimes can be very disheartening.

Yes and it is not a very good couping mechanism either, well by not good I mean it does more damage then good. It is just sad how many parents fear their children. But i cannot blame them I was freaking terrified to be within shouting distance of a child without another adult present. All it takes is one small hint that something bad might have happened and BOOM, you are child abuseing sex offender for the rest of your life.

Anyway the above mentioned excuse is often times used, on me, as an attempt to argue that I am wrong for not liking children. I think the point is the say "What you have yourself?"

Indeed we need idiots to be born. Not many but just enough to fill the bottom crap jobs of society so the intelligent people do not have to waste their lives doing so.

Its more than sad to see a parent scared of his/her own child, but rather dispicable. In my opinion a parent scared of a child displays a lack of raising it congruously.

Why be terrified. I see what your trying to say but there is a difference between an abuser and a parent disciplining his/her child. Beating your child is not the only alternative in disciplining, but some parents overuse this method thus causing abuse.

You have been accused of being an abuser? If so then I guess your blatant dislike for children didn't help your situation, did it? In this quote "What you have yourself?" do you mean "All you have is yourself?"

I was saying that when I turned 18 at boy scout camp I had to undergo special "Cover your Ass" training. Because children today KNOW that all most of them have to do is hint at abuse to get any adult arrested.

What I meant to say "What, do you HATE yourself?" You know the some what circular logic you hate children, and since you were a child you must hate yourself.

I never knew such training existed.

Where you live must have alot of accused abusers.

Nope. Never heard of that logic. I've heard of people hating children but not anyone hating themselves because they were children. You were the first I've ever heard that from...

That's me I do not want any children at all and I never will. I know I will not be a good parent and I have so many emotional and social issues i do not want my children to go through that, I had a horrible child hood and I do not want my children to suffer like I did

At the moment, I really don't want any children. I know I'm still young and everyone but one person tells me I'll change my mind. I know taking care of siblings is different but taking care of your own, but I had such a hard time taking care of them when my father worked and my mother went out on vacation one year. I just don't think I can handle it, it is a burden and it takes a lot of money and time. My mother loves children but at the same time I don't know how she handles all five of us.
