I wanna see iljimae accidentally death because of slipped while doing her thievery task. Eun Chae will marrying boon soon father and boon soon with eun chae brother. After that, boon soon father had an affair with eunchae brother and they beheaded by the king because of their unforgivable sin. Eun chae will be prostitute and boon soon will be nun. One day, Eun chae accidentally meet somebody looks same like iljimae but without leg, hand, blind, mute, and deaf crawling on the street. Actually, that person is iljimae but being disable because of her slipped accident and abusing by her victim. Iljimae keep stare to Eun Chae while controlling her macho. Eun Chae got annoying and then will spit to ijlimae face. After that all over country shocked because a news that nun got raped by 100 bandits continuously. That nun is boon soon. Finally, king and queen moving to uganda and living happiness for 2 years before queen pregnant and the baby is niger? That mean the queen had an affair with some local man... FINISH

I am very much against the Eun Chae and Iljimae tandem for the significant fact of them totally being devoid of chemistry. If it wasn't because of the music that suddenly plays in the background during their scenes you wouldn't think they were totally in love. The music and the writers forces you to believe that yeah "they are both good looking, they should make a good couple". Unfortunately, Eun Chae falls flat as the lead girl. Even though I am aware that she is supposed to be the lead girl, I am not inclined to wish her and Iljimae a happy ending. They just don't feel right when they are together. She has so little screen time in the whole 18 episodes and with Jun-ki as compared to Bong soon. There is no spark between their characters and there is very little change in nuances and expressions in Eun chae espescially as a damsel in distress (I couldn't feel the distress! :w00t:). She doesn't stand out even if she is prettier than Bong soon. For me, Bong soon stole the leading lady role from Eun chae effortlessly.

After getting this far, I am very happy to see that when given the chance Bong soon and Iljimae make a very nice couple. There is chemistry and a feeling of rightness and warmth when they are together whether arguing, scheming or sharing memories. There is definitely much possibility in their relationship if the drama was made longer and the writers didn't kill off Bong soon to stick with the "original storyline" and get rid of tough competition.

Another thought, Shi hoo is too pitiful. They should give Eun chae to him as consolation price for all his grief. Bong Soon can make Iljimae/Geom/Yong-ee laugh in surprising situations and she can support him better.

im not a korean so i dont understand unsubbed dramas.. but i ended up advancing to episode 15 because i heard there was a part when bong soon kissed yong-ee *forcefully*.. it was cute and funny.. haha..

the irritated yong-ee and the insistent bong soon.. pretty good combination!!

I loved that part too. They really looked right together even if the situation was absurd. I wish I was the one who kissed Jun-ki forcefully. Bong soon was so cute pretending to tank her master and I really think she plays her character perfectly (witty, noisy, annoying yet unexpectedly sweet and courageous). Whenever they are on the same scene, they let out different expressions and varied range of emotions from annoyed, despair to a feeling of understanding. You should see episode 17 and 18, more cute scenes of them together, huhuhu get ready for a long cry though.

It sucks that its only 20 episodes, but at least we get something. Now I prefer Bong Soon over Eun Chae, not only b/c I like Lee Young Ah, but I like Bong Soon's character as well. I think she's witty, and instead of getting w/someone that appears to be so perfect in every little thing... I rather see him get w/someone who's imperfect. However I do believe that he'll end up w/no one. Another sad ending like Hong Gil Dong.

My sentiments exactly! Eun Chae acts like a perfect prude most of the time. Her character is too righteous, placid, and sweet that it comes out fake. She is far too untouched, pure and removed from life's tragedies that she couldn't possibly cope with Yong-ee's harsh and painful past. Her's and Geom's childish love is but a faint dream/ideal, easily shattered, not much depth as far as I can see.

In contrast, Bong Soon is a survivor much just like Yong-ee. She had her share of tragedies and takes present and future tragedies as it comes and strives to win over it with fervor and tenacity. Now, that's a woman for a hero. Think Sung yu-ri in Hong gil dong or Lee ji-ah of The Legend or Han hye ji of Jumong they were women of wit, guts, spirit and strength, a reasonable amount of innocence and of course kindness. Bong soon reminds me of the lady warrior Sujini when it comes to her wit and mischievousness. She does not obey the conventions of the women in ancient times and does basically what comes to mind and this allows for greater ranges of emotions and expressions. I especially enjoy her irritating antics and the way she outsmarts Yong-ee time and time again.

Yong-ee should realize that there is more to love and women than what meets the eye or a shared bird story (come on!). I'm sad that the story tend to favor that Eun Chae girl. It should be Bong Soon and Yong-ee then Shi-ho and Eun chae together. Alas, that might be impossible since the writers would most likely make Shi-ho suffer for the unfortunate actions he made. But I do agree that the 20 episodes wouldn't allow an in depth development of the romantic subplot as it is hardly able to contain the revenge plot. I think this would be by far one of the shortest k-historical. Given the # of viewers, they should at least make it to a standard 24 ep. drama.

You are my idol! Aja Bong soon and Yong-ee! I love both of you to death! Episode 19 plz don't let Bong soon -----.... ....-----! It would be so unfair!!! Eun chae is useless compared to Bong soon.

Yong-ee's a player! jk of course...
but if it was my choice to pick who he should like...it'd be bong soon. she's just involved more and i like how they start to hate each other and gradually develop feelings, as least for bong soon's side..so full house! but then again, will she bear hatred when she sees more of one side of her savior since it is partly yong-ee's fault for killing her brother?

as for eun chan...look, she's great and all. but boring, and she's so..bleh...almost useless in the whole drama. with all the ironies and fate, the only one that she has is that yong-ee's half brother likes her as well. if this is going to turn out as full house for her, both shi hoo and bong soon won't have anybody, and frankly, that sucks. i don't know what yong-ee sees in her. -_-
if she does take yong-ee in the end (T.T)...that'll be her main part only, the girl who falls in love. boring. let's think about it too. the guys eun chan fell in love with was a rich boy telling her a cute story when she was little and a guy that's masked, never stated that she liked yong-ee as yong-ee.

but then again, can heroes have someone? what if iljimae dies?

i just can't wait to see what happens!

Yup, yup, yup. No problem with this comment. The writers made a mistake when they tried to pull a Romeo and Juliet thing for Eun-chae and Geom. It's too melodramatic and over used on so many dramas. Another mistake, if they wanted the viewers to support Eun-chae as lead girl, they should have made her more involved in the details of Yong-ee's life. She is great as a morally upright girl in a family of rotten tomatoes but as partner to Iljimae she sucks, the usual damsel in distress who causes more harm for the hero than good.

If you watch the 18 episodes as of now, Eun-chae doesn't really play a pivotal role in Yong's life. She met him once as a child and fell for him! Crap that is supposed to be true love?? She had never shared his tragedies. When she met the rough, carefree Yong-ee, she was easily disillusioned. And fell in love with the hero Iljimae (cuz the people think he's Robin hood w/c is not Yong-ee's primary intention). She loved only the idealistic sides of Jun-ki and coldly treated his other persona. Does she really deserve Yong-ee's devotion?

I just wish she ends up with Shi hoo. He deserves her, after all his sacrifices. And when it comes to righteousness, Shi-hoo had always walked the straight and narrow stringently, albeit with bad results.

In order of cast lists he'll be with Eun Chae. Muhaha. Dramawiki never lies in cast orders. I also have a feeling of a sad ending, but the romance will pay off.

BTW, according to the lore, the King in this drama came after the King in Hong Gil Dong. It's King Injo. Deemed as one of the worst kings in Korean history and also one of the most indecisive.

i like bong soon, i think she is totally awesome, but somehow, eun chae seems more... calm and serene, especially compared to some of the other characters, which is why i think many people describe overly pure and quiet. i think she should totally be with iljimae.
