Canon and Nikon are the worlds best Digital/Film Single Lens Reflex maker. both have their advantages and their disadvantages..i have a Canon 400D (18-55mm kitlens, 30mm micro, 300mm telephoto) and a Nikon D70 (18-55kit lens, 30mm micro, 24-70 Portrait lens, 10-20 super wide) both are damn good cameras..though i still can't decide which is better..

I've only used a Canon before, but Nikon looks good too! I guess it depends on which one you're used to.

Nikon..let me tell you why..i've tried using Canon 40D and Nikon D200..1 main reason why Nikon is because their Saturation Levels are OUTSTANDING so as their Detail. that means you do not need as much work in photoshop for Outdoor Photography (i am an Outdoor Photographer.) as for canon..you'd love em in the studio.

Nikon. I have a D80 and D300.. Every professional photographer I've worked with shoots with Nikon. Its the industry standard!

I know more than a few professional photographers that shoot with canon.

Personally, I prefer canon; however both are nice.

I've used both as a starter kit, back when I first picked photography up about eleven years ago. There really isn't much of a difference. Both are great!
