what is up with labeling people on their looks/other?
Posted 7/4/08
i don't know why people label others. sometimes it makes people judgemental of them. for example, my friends loves to wear black so people call her "goth/emo" and my other friends are the so called "preps" however some of them have interests that go against the depicted "goth/emo" and "prep". for example, my supposedly "goth" friend actually loves jonas brothers and hannah montana not like MCR and she likes black and skulls. oh n the geeks people depict as ugly somewhat and smart and plays videogames and comics and are weak. my friend who people calls "geek" is smart and dresses weird but is a sick nasty artist and athelete.

so whats ur opinion on labeling?

I know it's a bad thing but I mostly judge people by looks. But when I get to know them it's different.

i judge people on looks, and frankly sometimes i even label them. but i try not to think that way cuz i know that there's more than meets the eye, or w/e.....that's just how society is.

Yea. I don't know why but when a person really is retarded, you can usually tell.

I personally do label people a little. But I do it in my head and I don't say it to their face. Like if I think someone looks kinda nerdy, I just keep it to myself. But I still usually chat with them every so often and get to know them a bit before I really make my decision.

It happens, mostly because it's true...

its not a label, it is called a stereotype!!!
I dislike it when people make a presumption on something, but this is reality, not a lot we can do about it as its human nature

this is really irritating...labelling!!!

who are strangers or people who know us 2 judge us for our likes and physical appearance?

they aren't ourselves to label us!!!

what i hate the most is when they misunderstand stuff...like when you wear black most of the time people think ur goth/emo...what if you just wear it 'cuz u have no choice....or most of ur clothes just so happens to be black...or the rest are in d laundry...needs to be washed (it gets washed according to colour...like bright ones with bright and dark with dark)...etc...who knows?!

lol

Labeling themselves as such only proves that they are either the real thing or the wannabe.

I guess this is just how the world is. Almost everyone is going to be labelled :\ we've just gotta live with it & move on.

I label people sometimes. But I don't dress so awesome myself, so I try to improve. Unless the person has 50 piercings, and a machine gun, labeling people is wrong.

Oh yeah, if girls wear really slutty clothes they are "junior prostitues"

Ehh, I label people all the time.
Especially chavs, greebs, emos and miniature prostitutes (yeah, the ones who're pregnant at 15).
I'm not a very nice person lol.
