I would say that an otoku is just an overly obsessed person compared to anime watchers who see anime as more of a hobby.

I never said that! You feel guilt maybe because you are one. I, for one, have a life and still watch anime, so I'm considered a regular anime fan. What if the person really loves that anime that's why they collect it's merchandise? Is that being an otaku? o.O

no clue xD

Otaku's: people who are obsessed and watch every anime no matter how long it is and short it is, buy everything realated to anime, everything in their room has anime or is anime. they try to find out about any new season coming out for certain animes. they read all the manga's.

anime watchers: are really picky about which anime to watch; they say things about the anime like "its boring to watch" or "its was great i hope there a other season" , has about 5-13 things of anime.

xD i guess this is what i say :x no clue where i fall im not that obsessed, im picky about anime that i watch ^^;; sad but true, i do have the dvd collection of fma with the movie ^^ and all my friends from high school where like "hey can i borrow it sometime?" i had to say no >.> my parents dont trust me when i lend my stuff to people, because in case they lose it, or someone in their family broke it ^^;; i have some manga, only the anime i like ^^

otakus are people who buys dvd's and collects things that are related to anime

And ordinary anime fans can't do that? >__>

Are you saying that if I, for example, will buy DVD's and anime merchandises, then I'm an otaku?

not really but otakus are so addicted about anime they buy everything that resembles anime examples are collection of anime if there;s a new collection they'll buy it immediately

I'll repeat the question again: And ordinary anime fans can't do that? Because?

Otaku, as a friend of mine defined, is a person who never get out of his house (yeah, like a hikikomori) watching anime all day-long, and orders all his anime merchandises from the internet

Note the red please.
