I think Japan still has a slight lead in the horror realm. Korea is a real close 2nd.

hmmm... i think thai horror.

I love all asian movies but in my opinion:
1st - Japan
The best: they have good, unique story line, meaningfull and touching
the worst: its slow, sometime awefully slow that make you feel like passing out, too much mysterious and jump scene could make ppl confuse easily and the simple-mind ppl whish that they didnt watch the movie at all

2nd - korea and thai
thai movies has the interesting story which can make up for the so-so acting skill. Too much "black magic" could make ppl think most of Thai ppl are psychics

good looking chicks is a must in every Korean movies. They have good story line but slow sometime. i dont know if its just me have a feeling that they act with the same emotion most of the time or they try so hard to be cool

I can't decide between Japan and Korea. Both have equally brilliant films. Ringu and Ju-on to name the most obvious from Japan, and Phone and A Tale of Two Sisters for Korea.
