just too sad that whenever a foreigner sees the word filipino, they easily associate it to domestic helpers, crap and ugly..
and if they see a good-looking one, they'd immediately say "that's half!"
and if they see something supposedly filipino-made, they'd argue as if the world's going to end and say its not

i never see Filipino drama aired in other countries. They aren't that good like Chinese, Korean, and Japanese drama.

WELL if you go those country you might see its airing there..right??
i agree that there are some dramas that aren't good but definitely there are very good dramas..most filipino drama shows the filipino culture like daily life of an ordinary person...so if youre not filipino you might not like it because its new and its different...people are pretty much like that....they dont like "being different"...
i hope you guys get my point!!..

i saw I love New York of jolina....it is aired in vancouver canada...watch them on tv..XP

and magpakailanman..but without sub...

neeh, no offence
or anything.
but i REALLY dont understand
why filipino dramas are aired in
other countries.
>___O'
i mean they're so predictable and most of
the time the actors and actresses are fake.

but to all the fans i'm sorry
if this offended you.
:)

believe it or not other races are interested in fdramas. although obviously these shows aren't to your liking some of them~ pangako sa yo, particularly~ went on to become a big hit in malaysia, singapore, and even a lot of countries in africa. now i don't understand what you meant by filpino "fake actors and actresses"~ acting is make-believe? ? but i do admit that good fdramas are rare~most are crap because the networks think every filipino wants to see hardcore drama and hardcore villains all the time the writers just couldn't relax

No offense, but I just like to watch the mistakes and lameness in Asian (ALL, inc. Japanese, Korean, Filipino, etc. etc.) dramas. It's the way I get my kicks and have a laugh. Doesn't mean I don't like watching them =P . I gave up on American TV shows b/c its all about voting, elimination and "REALITY" sh*t nowadays. Anyway, I'm now 20 but I remember my mom skimming through the tv and watching something called "okidok", "Esperanza" and "Super Laughing?, "Home ALong the Riles",. Check out those shows. Don't know how they are cause I don't understand. But I'm pretty sure it's good.

I have no idea what plays in other countries. I'll go ask my friend in Belgium though. Update this later.

Fully agree. Funny music too. It seems to me that they play the same "serious" music in all of them (Horror's and drama). I gotta go check one out to make sure my statement is correct

Don't worry my Filipinos, I like watching them too.

no offense too. but don't you think you call it lame because you don't understand those shows? but y'know what? i am really glad you have patience to watch shows, pinoy shows. dramas are dramas, you may not appreciate them but some people do. you may not relate to it, but some people do. i think it is not being lame or something. it is just a mere fact that it is a matter of some one else's opinion. so we just better go with it rather than offend some one.

Thanks.

Nah, I pick up SOME words. Plus I ask my mom what they are saying every 30 seconds. She gets annoyed at times. :D

I guess I'm enjoying the shows not for the same reason as most would want and so I apologize for that.

I just look at it realistically and you have to agree, Asian shows can be lame. Much like the US's 'Keenan and Kel' on Nickolodeon. But I also keep in mind what the message and kind of people the show is reaching out too. I know I won't be able to relate to all things but I try and to understand.

I appreciate all types of entertainment, whether it be dramas, etc....

But don't forget, I'm referring to ALL types of dramas.

But hey! This is coming from a guy that watches The Legend of the Drunken Master 20 times to find mistakes. Agree with me or not.

(Check out the fight scene where Jackie goes into the burning coals, the bad guy does a "thumbs up" that the stunt is okay. Also there's a fireman that realizes he's in the scene and tries to duck out of the picture)

i only know of those shows mentioned here already.. I only know of Pangako sa'yo and sana maulit muli

no offense but a lot of people here are too harsh.. anyway, i also love watching films/dramas and most shows that i've watched are predictable and it's not just filipino shows(it's hard nowadays to really create something new when almost everything has been thought of already), but still, i watch it because it caters to my taste. maybe not everyone is into hard-core drama but you can't say it's crap or whatever just because you don't like it. It sells in the philippines for a reason, other countries franchise/get copyright for these shows for a reason. and also, you can't say anything is a crap if you can't even understand what they are saying. well...i think, probably because most of our shows nowadays focuses more on the dramas and not that much on teen-life(which most people here likes) that's why some can't empathize with the story.
I won't force people to watch filipino dramas. if you don't like it then don't. but also, don't say filipino actors are fake. perhaps, you've watched the wrong films, cause you hadn't seen those who/which are good. or perhaps, you mean their attitudes and not acting? well, not only filipinos are fake, and we can't do anything about that.
and, oh, to pohejo, what you've said was really harsh. well, yeah filipinos do have colonial mentality, but can you help it? we've been conquered by a lot of nations that we were influenced by these nations. Please don't say that those who have ambitions live abroad. Not everybody who stays in the philippines doesn't have ambition. People have choices, and some chose to stay. are you a filipino?

I just realized that this post was waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy off topic. pasensya po (i'm sorry)
