Of course there's something wrong.

I know very well that you see things that Hip Hop could change.

Don't speak too quickly, brah.

wow....this is awesome...i've never seen anyone talk about hip hop music so seriously before! i dont really hav an opinion since my hip hop artist range is still a little small.... i haven't heard too much of 80's or 90's hip hop so i dunno if its plummeted or grown better...

i still think that it was all new in the 80's but it was at its best in the 90's and early 2000's but now the south is dumbing things down and the north is to hard for their own good

That doesn't include EVERYONE in the south though. Neither does it include EVERYONE in the north. It's just the majority of the artists on both ends.

I don't even like listening to the radio anymore, unless it's like a midnight dj mix. And those are actually pretty good IMO.

On the decline...

Posted 12/8/07
Idk...i say Hip hop's talent pool has actually grown in the past 10 years.....it's just a matter of the overtly generic msgs and poor lyrical content that contains no creativity that is killing the industry.

I personally think hip hop was losing credit in the early 90's (yes even before biggie and Tupac where there they didn't help the cause any)

They were losing credit only from the media and other non-hip hop listeners.

Many of them already hated hip hop as it is, so what's two more rappers gonna do to change that? They ignored the fact that the two were philosophical and just saw them as "two more rappers".

I don't think Tupac NOR Biggie were really "philosophical" I mean yes they did have a few socially conscious songs. But the majority of their work still had nothing but negative stereotypes and glorifying negative aspects of their culture.
So i still ultimately think they are discredit to the hip hop community.

Despite their overwhelming popularity (which most of it stems from their untimely deaths much like the popularity for Morrison of the Doors and Cobain from Nirvana.)
