God is a completely subjective matter given "objective" qualities.

Well noone knows...so God is created as an answer. But with no proof, it's up to you to decide why we are here and how we got here.

If people create God in their minds because they want to believe in Heaven, I wonder why they fail to have the relationship with Him that gets people to Heaven. If anything, believing in God should make people fear going to Hell, instead of assuming that we all go to Heaven.

Since you don't believe in God, do you ever wonder if you are misinformed? What do you think causes some atheists to convert, such as C.S. Lewis? It's very unfortunate that so many people in this world use God as a scapegoat for their idiotic behavior. Since most people don't read the Bible, their only knowledge of God comes from what people say about Him. Most of it happens to be false because, well, people are liars. I don't know much about Islam except that they don't believe Jesus is the son of God, so as a Christian I'm not going to defend that. I don't know where they get the idea that the devil was supposed to bow down to humans.

I never said I don't believe in god. I'm saying that people all have different ideas of god. It's created kind of for security in a way. Without god most a person's philosophies could be broken down. Noone can ever inform of you of god either. If you just believe because someone told you...Well I call that blind belief. You have to experience and decide for yourself whether it be through reason or by some other means. Also Heaven and Hell are subjective things as well. One could think of heaven a certain way..and maybe to another person that is like hell.

Sorry ManZtheLegend, I was referring to geekzz213 who claims not to believe in God. You're right that people shouldn't believe in God because someone tells them too. That sure wasn't my case, taking a leap of faith when you're not a Christian is the hard part. Experiencing God when you have chosen to believe in Him is the good part. Like I said before, I don't see how it gives people security if they have no relationship with Him.

It gives them security because they can just use god as an answer. It makes them feel better and feel like they have some purpose. It might enforce their own personal philosophy in a way. They might not even have to have a relationship with him, I duno if you know what I'm getting it, but yes.

According to the Bible, people who reject God will go to Hell. Therefore, I'm saying that it would provide more security to believe that there is no God so people can think they won't go to Hell by having no relationship with Him.

But I'm not saying according to in a Christian/Bible sense. Just as God in general who encompasses everything.

starryeyeddream: Whatever the problem is, know that God lets those things happen because sometimes people have to hit rock bottom before they decide that God is the answer. That's what happened to me and at the time and was sooo mad and I hated God for letting anything bad happen to me because I guess I felt like He owed me something. I do hope you get through whatever is going on.

Hah, I just live my own life, god or no god, does it really matter if he exist? If he exists, in the end he will just be the judge of how good or bad we are in life. If he doesnt, that still doesnt stop you from living your life to the fullest, after all, you live for yourself.
