PLEASE NO, THAT IS THE WORST SCENERIO ANYONE COULD IMAGINE.[/b ] Yuuki will have an annoying voice (e.g dubbed sakuras voice...*shivers*) Zero will have a voice which will give you sivers (not in good way) and same goes for kaname...A typical example is fruits basket. Yuki ended up with a very very manly horrible voice, tohru with a voice whihc make syou wanna stab her to death and kyo...hmmm....i duno, but lets just say annoying to add to the point that dubs are not original, and their mouth synching with the anime is terrible. As well as that, when characters are at the brink of death and lets out a scream which defy's your death, they do not give enough oooomph, japanese is far better. Phew! Gosh i have a huge protest against this, but you know, you can't help it, they dub for other countries to hear, but i think reading subtitles is far better if it means to get better voices O.o

i agree the english dubb are SCARY and for the record i hate it too the dubs for fruit basket

i've been reading other comments and i dont get it why some people mentioned that once an anime is dubbed (in this case, VK) , it's going to be licensed? what dubbing has got to do with licensing the anime? can somebody explain please?

What's with all the bitching moaning about it being dubbed when you've all seen 1-13 subbed in CR already? I just don't get your complaints

Usually I HATE dubs and I always think subs are better. But I have come across one or two dubbed shows that I think they did a good job with.

I kinda liked the voice actors they chose for FMP (it's been a while though...so I may be forgetting if it was good or not...)

And I actually REALLY like the dubs for Gundam Wing. Old but still a classic, and the voices fit the characters pretty well.

I am a little worried they are going to kill the voices though...they need to do it right. ^_^;;;

Before an anime is dubbed it has to be licensed, usually by a company such as Viz Media or Funimation. Since Viz Media has licensed and publishes the manga here in North America, it is most likely that they will be dubbing it. Vampire Knight came out just recently as an anime. If Viz Media had acquired the license then we would see it dissappear from this site, and there probably would have been an annoucement or something. The information is therefore false.

That's the natural way of things. Besides, there's nothing really wrong with dubs these days. The Companies are really taking note of what the fans think and are trying to tailor the anime to be as close to the original Japanese as they can. And most Anime DVDs contain a dual-audio track with english subtitles. In other words, you can buy the DVD and still have the original Japanese. No one said you had to watch the english version.

To license the anime basically means that an English Company, like Viz Media, or Funimation, is allowed to take the anime and dub it over in english. It's like if you want to turn a book into a movie, you have to gain the rights to it from the original author.

The licensing comes first. Essentially, it's asking for permission, because the companies that create the anime are Japanese. Make sense? ^_^
