Haha I'm Chinese and I'm not offended my the word chink. Hell with it I don't understand how it offends Chinese people at all. I mean:

Example: Jap is short for Japanese. I get that 100%

Now technically wouldn't it be Chin for Chinese? Haha I LIKE THAT! STFU you Chin! lol

Lol yeaaa but its not nice knowing that someone wanted to offend you...

Yeah but then again it depends if you're actually offended by it or not. Who called you a chink? White people?

Yea @.@
What really offended me was when this family of white people walked past and was teaching their daughter that i was a chink. >.>

*grins* that's why you should unleash the asian beast and beat the snot out of every one of them.

This is what I've been trying t make people see, yeah whatever happened back then was messed up, horrible and everybody wants revenge i geuss. My ancestors didn't live in America back then and I'm white, I'm the first generation on my mom's side to fully be raised in America. And even if you're trying to get revenge, i haven't heard of any Jews trying to get revenge on the Germans, I'm not saying there isn't any, but I've never met one that is like that. My best friend is a Muslim, I'm not raist against her, we have like some of the best times together and we're a lot alike our races aren't getting in the way, why is everyone looking at the white people as the bad guys?

whoa whoa?! hold on there general che! about that that miss america thing? THIS is the country that has EVERY race living in it thats why its called the the miss AMERICA pagent? and no a WHITE woman could not win a BLACK miss america pageant?! how does that make sense? like did you even think about that statement?

and about that someone called you a white boy and you call them a nigger situation? no, not alot of white people take that much offense to those names because thier is no history behind it, white people in those days didnt have nobody beating and raping and killing thier friends all the while being called a cracker?! now did they? but black people would take offense much more quickly because of its past and long history with the word. but either way if your walking down the street minding your own buisness nobody else should walk past saying anything racist especially those who do have a past of being called certain things?! on thier part thats being stupid and thats basically asking for trouble?! so i agree with you a hundred percent on that hands down.

im a black female but i dont portray myself in a way for anyone to call me a nigger? i only use that word on my race when they are acting, talking or behaving in such a way that i find myself embarrassed just being in thier presence.

Black, white, brown, dark. We are still human after all. We got the same eyes, nose, mouth, brain, hand, legs. We are STILL human after all. For example, if u insult a black person u are actually insulting urself too. We are insulting our ownself bcoz we are Humans, same species! Humans are born with diiferent skin colour, but still we got the same thing like u do.

I hate racism, but I find it hilarious that some of the people who get the most offended by the term 'nigger' are white people. Big brother whitey knows best.

I am never offended by words, but I am offended by ideas.

Political correctness is the most retarded fucking thing ever.

so? that was years ago. if they cant forgive and forget then they are REALLY messed up

I beg yor pardon? For your information Rascism is alive and well in the United States and if it's anyone who won't let me forget I'm black in 2008, it's the majority of the population who is not of color.

I currently am not even living in thre Unted States primarily because I live a racism free life in Europe, thank you. I'm a sucessful, respectful, attractive and educated BLACK woman, and I STILL am followed by security or shop owners when I go into small shops when I visit the America, while meanwhile those who are not of color are allowed to browse freely.

Insomuch as forgiving others, I think it's a splendid idea. But I am the child of grandparents tortured and suppressed under JIM CROW laws and the likes of Bull Conner, and were denied voting rights by way of violence. They consitently had to witness lynchings of blacks for not "knowing their place" in society. i don't suppose many of our reders here have an idea what it's like to hear your granparent's horrible memories of walking home from church, school, or work and encounter dead bodies swinging from trees, young people killed for maybe staring into the eyes a white person too long or simply "not knowing your place". My parents had to march for the right to use public restrooms, eat at public restaurants, and enter through the front door of public establishments and for their future children to be able to integrate into public schooling, which is supposed to be for ALL Americans. As you might remember, such public protests were usually met with tear gas, firehoses being turned on women and children, as well as being attacked with German Shepard police dogs.

Even in MY lifetime, I've had to endure traumatic experiences that no child should have to simply because of my race. I remember very clearly the second day of having inegrated into a white neighborhood when my parents purchased a new home for us. it didn't take vey long for our house to be egged and toilet papered. it also didn't take very long for little italian, German, and Hungarian boys to chase me down the street on bikes, while screaming " get out of America and go BACK, nigger"...which was surprising and ironic to me, considering my bloodline can be traced back to the late 1700's while these neighbors were CLEARLY from immigrant families that had barely arrived at the turn of the century and later after WW 2.

I can recall even being on a photoshoot for ( American) Cosmopolitan magazine at age 23, and having an (American) fashion photographer instructing me to bring in oars for our next photo, later adding "you know, the PADDLES?". I very gently and respectfully had to inform this man, in the sweetest voice, that I had in fact been on the CREW TEAM of one of the most elite private schools in my STATE, entered college with an SAT Verbal Score of 740 (the highest score being 800, and by the way the Republican vice president nominee has a below national average score of 418). I was a woman WELL AWARE of what "oars" were, thank you. Additionally, at the time I was the assistant to one of the most famous style makers in Manhattan. Based on my work experience alone, I would have known what an oar was by then even if I hadn't before. While he was actually a very nice man, his embarrassment was quite apparent in having judged me because of what I looked like instead of knowing anything about me or my backround.

So again, I'm a pretty optimistic forgiving person in general. I'm all for forgiveness. But as for forgetting, I think not. I bear witness to too many of the battles hard won, and hard lost by my forbearers. I am the product of those who even died because of racism, those who lived long enough to eventually die in the civil rights movement so that I can have a better life than they did. As respect for my ancestors suffering, I will never forget...and for my own children, while I will teach them to love all people, I will also teach them them that they can not forget the sacrifices made for them so that they can live the American dream without fear or torment.

Peace Out,
bella24

Europe is NOT racism free. It’s not nearly as bad as America and is far more generalised but is NOT racism free. I went to France once, and every single person there, the moment they discavered I was Scottish treated me as though I was something the dog had just left on the floor. In parts of England, Scots are bullied and threatened because they are Scottish. And Scotland’s no better. Many Scots, especially elder ones, hate American, English, Germans, French, Russians etc. with a passion. Scots are xenophobes by nature and as one its irritating to be pushed into a category of which I don’t belong.

I totally agree with you on this. But I have forgiven English oppressors who burned down the homes of my ancestors, raped our women, and brutally killed anyone who tried to stop it.

And if I could correct you on this, no one, man women or child should have to suffer this at all, never mind just for your race.

Maybe the guy just judged you on the popular stereotype of models and hadn’t researched your background? Your probably right, but I’m just suggesting a possibility

Ok maybe the saying I used wasn’t right. And now that I think about it more I realise that “Those Who Forget Past Mistakes Are Doomed To Repeat Them” (Dwight D. Eisenhour)
