i like the way the author portray's love too. It's realistic. I seriously think there are really few people out there who are as happy as Junko and Kousuke (they're almost like soul mates xD)

I had compassion for Reira until she
. When I read that part I was like...girl, don't you have any principles? dignity? strength?

I am not sure why Reira did that. I mean, she didn't even get anything out of that! If she needs a guy, there are loads of out there. I reckon she's one of those "grass is always greener" type of people. If one always thinks of what they don't have instead of what they have, they can never be happy even if one is a pop star or a king. Maybe she should sit down and think about what she's after for her life, her direction, etc. But things never happen that perfectly.

Perhaps Takumi and Reira should have been together. However, Takumi wanted a stable normal family. He actually didn't like complicated things in terms of relationships. He knew he couldn't get that from Reira. That's why he chose Nana (cunning bastard). But he and Nana also messed up things in the relationship.

I love NANA forever. It's such a deep story! Ai Yazawa's mangas always have some sort of atmosphere that you can feel comfortable in, and can relate to.

Reira is my idol. She's my favorite charachter from NANA.

This manga is a real complecated thing, well looking through some previous works from Yazawa-sensei works it could be anything, but I don't really think that Ren is dead.

Well, anyway, my favorite is boldly and Takumi.

I don't think he's dead too...I hope he isn't >.<
I don't think Takumi really can love anyone, though I rlly hope he'll change as the series goes on. The reason he's w/ Nana is because he got her pregnant, and he's a responsible guy so he decides to take care of her and their baby (even if it's Nobu's).
I think to Takumi, Reira is like a sister. No matter how much Reira loves him, he can't love her back in the romantic sense. That's why he was hesitant when Reira [see above spoiler], because he knows he's gonna end up hurting her.

And there is the fear of gossip since Takumi is in the showbiz. Nana wants the child. If he's not with the child's mother, it will be good material for rumors. I think to Takumi, career is NO.1 in his life and anything is are not that important. Some people are like that.

I don't think Reira "loves" Takumi. She only thinks she "loves" him. She doesn't know what love is. He's just someone she had a crush on during her teen years. That's anything but love. Sadly she's not mature enough to get over it and it's hard for her to deal with being around him all the time. I think the relationship problems and failures she had previously also contributed to Reira's issues. Women are more likely to be like that than men. Remember this series was written for and about women, from women's perspective. I heard somewhere that some male readers/anime watchers dislike the female characters (esp. the Nana who married Takumi) in it. That's because they don't understand, I guess. And even I think this series gets a bit too emotional at times. Still I think it's far better than a lot of shojo/shonen romance stories out there. I like authors who draw and write with a serious attitude and mind. But it doesn't mean their works can't have comedic moments. Those in Nana are quite good.

wow...I never thought abt it that way..I thiik a lot of male readers dislike Hachi, because she represents someone who's immature (she falls in love WAY too easily) and too dependent (which some guys may misinterpret as clingy). I agree w/ u abt the comedic moments, that's why i love Ai Yazawa's works..there are serious things involved, but it doesn't lack the elements that a good manga is suppooed to have: such as comedy, good art, and interesting+realistic character development.

Man, cant wait for the latest chapter, hope it goes into the future again. (with Nana in UK and all that).
And I realized that even is Takumi is mostly a bastard, most of the things he does are for everyone's good.
