Wow, ppl sure know their stuff. Well, I haven't watched the Korean version and only watched the first ep of Maou, and so far it seemed good to me. As for KDramas taking their time and Jdramas rushing, I have feel that Jdramas tend to get better as the story/drama progresses. Although I do have to say I don't really watch Kdramas. Sure am looking forward to Maou! :)

as for actors, I prefer jjh in my opinion he improved a lot in Mawang from his Goong performance (I loved his looks in Goong not much on his acting skills but in Mawang I totally fell inlove with his acting skills...I don't think Ohno can surpassed jjh as the Devil) I still admire Ohno's acting skills not bad for his first time but no one could have portrayed the bette, gorgeous and cold devil than jjh...you have to see Mawang first, then you'll know what I mean..as for Toma, he is doing an excellent job I have no criticisms of him..in fact I think he is going to steal the show from Ohno hahahahaha..as for the girl, I like both the korean and the japanese actresses (although the japanese actress is cuter than the korean one)....as for the drama...like i said, menn....the japanese version better wow me....coz so far i wasn't impressed with how they just mix everything and looked chaotic to me...heheheheheh

oohhh.. now you're making me crumble... seriously.. i want to buy a copy of Mawang later.. heheheh
really JJH is much better than Ohno?

as for Toma, i'm really glad that you said that he is going to steal the show from Ohno.. hehehhe... i am a Toma fan, but whenever i watch Maou, i feel that i am looking out more for Ohno than him..

yeah TOMA is going to steal the drama from him thats my PERSONAL opinion, just like Toma stole the drama from Maki and Oguri in Hana kimi hahahaha...yeah, you should watch Mawang (but I warned you don't skip...its a little bit on a slow pace than the japanese version)

you won me over lee4lyf,
after i go offline, i went ahead and bought Mawang. I finished watching the first episode earlier before i go to work.. i guess it is too early for me to form an opinion between the actors,
what i noticed was Uhm Tae Wong's expression seems similar to Toma's, at least some of them... for JJH.. i still couldnt get him out of his Jeonha character in Goong.

thanks for the advice... i will not skip the whole drama... especially since the story seems so closely tied to one another. and as a song said..."I dont wanna miss a thing." hehehehheheh

hahaha, i see yeah well I hope you won't regret it... as for JJH yeah it took awhile before I started looking at him as the devil..but to me, he improved a lot...look closely for his eye expressions....(a lot of actors don't act with their eyes but the best actors & actresses out there can act with just their eye expressions, coz its easy to create expressions with your faces but when you do it with your eyes to me damn thats real....remember your eyes are the windows of your soul)... as for Toma he is gonna be a great actor looking forward to all his dramas...

You guys CAN NOT compare something like this. For some people, I just want to say, that just because you like Toma and Ohno, you vote for Japanese version. The Korean version was so good, that's why there is a Japanese remake! If the Koreans didn't do it so well, there would not be a Japanese remake! Get it?

If you haven't seen both versions from beginning to end, then don't voice your opinion on one or the other. I hate it when people say something is better when they have not even watched both versions yet to even have the RIGHT to talk about it.

I like Uhm Tae Woong acting in MaWang, and I'm open to Ikuta Toma's acting too. However, i think Ohno might be better than Ju Ji Hoon's acting.

I felt most of the time JJH's acting in Ma Wang was really deadpan, the only time he showed emotion was when he cried. Other times, he look kind of tired looking or bored.

I the japan version beacuase give you the story in way that doesn't give you a lot. and the Korean version i saw it it more characters details and more episode that the japan but i saw the first in korean and japan to compare it . It similiar and yet different. I like the acting of toma and Uhm tae wong on the character they were Good and i have to Agree with Spygurl5 that ohno is better that ju ji hoon. Because ju ji hoon doesn't feel the pain went loosing a mother and brother. but he did great when he cry. Ohno you look on the eyes of ohno you see the emontions behind it and the pain.

Did the Japanese version change Ohno Satoshi to become the older brother or what? Because according to the script/Korean version, he's suppose to play the younger brother. Confused.

^ yes Ohno's character in the Korean version is the younger brother.

Storywise, it would be difficult to judge this early since we're still on episode 3 of Maou. Japanese dramas never disappointed me in giving twists and good plots but I must say that Mawang will be very hard to surpass since I find it as one of the best dramas. Although it got kinda slow in the middle, the typical episode counts of Jdoramas which are 10-12 will remedy that. Uhm, I hope

Character/actor-wise I agree with most of you guys. I didn't really like Joo Ji Hoon here. He didn't make me feel much emotion so I must say that I love Oh-chan's acting WAY better. I seriously get goosebumps every time Ohno shifts expressions. As for the detective's character... hmmm. so hard to comment. I REALLY love Kang Oh Soo. Both character and actor are amazing. Even though Toma is forever my ichiban, I think I need to see more episodes to say whether he's at par with the Korean. lol.

Korean and Japanese, I both dislike the lawyer's character. I love Ohno but I hate Naruse. I can't sympathize with him. Oh and I must say that the detective got more screen time in the kversion. Like 15 hours for him and 5 hours for the lawyer. lol. Okay I exaggerate. I wonder how it would turn out for Maou though.

You DONT have to be so uptight about this...
the only reason that i am asking if which one is better is because i want to know which drama should i watch first. Mawang has been aired already and anyone can easily get the copy of the drama, but Maou, we still have to wait for the next episodes and especially the subtitled raw of that drama..

As i have said in my first post,
"Heard about Mawang months ago, eventhough i like Goong, i am not that interested in watching this drama back then. I am not a Jap-fan then, i am only a Kor-fan.

Then saw HanaKimi, fell in love with Ikuta Toma and now am crazy for this drama.
And after watching episode two of Maou, i'm itching to watch the Korean version too...

hmmm... which one is better the K-version of the J-version?"

I AM A FAN OF IKUTA TOMA, granted, but it doesnt mean that i cant appreciate other actors as well..
if it werent for the OPINION of the other people who posted here, i wouldnt GO and BUY A COPY of MAWANG.

but NOW I BOUGHT A COPY of MAWANG and currently watching episode 3 while still waiting to watch the upcoming episodes of Maou.

Again, I said FOR SOME PEOPLE.

Now I think you're over-reacting.

So far this is how I feel about both:
Ma Wang = Drama version
Maou = Quick Movie version

I like the korean version better because it keeps you guessing. In japanese version they tell you everything right from the beginning and it's sort of eh... too rushed.
but there are people who liked the rushed style so whatever :)

it'd be amazing if a chinese version of this came out. Who knows maybe it will end up being even longer than the korean version ^^;;

I'm pretty satisfied with both japanese/korean actors actresses. But if there is one thing that bothers me is..... the main actors in maou looks WAYY too young. They could pass being a high school kid. I guess they wanted everyone to be bishounen or something.

hehehe...
but i agree with you over the last part.. (not the over-reacting thingie)...
Japanese dramas has the tendency to shorten the original version of dramas or movies....
