Watched over a hundred! Saw Anime from its low-budget years and saw it turn high-powered kickassness.

From Voltes-V to Gundam Wing to Gintama. (This is an overall chart on where I started)

[email protected], i thought you saw more!
well hey, at least the stuff you've seen so far are pretty good lol
compared to myself whose seen so many, i can only say, probably more then half of them felt like a waste of time lol

but yeah, proud2bme is right, there are ALOT of good ones out there, that are worth watching (and vice versa!)
the main thing is, don't always go for the mainstream and try find some of those 'special' ones =D

Dunno dude, but it's a hell of a good time for anime and manga if you're under 20. Once you're above that, you'll be bogged down on exams, work and stuff like that. Try enjoying your youth, while it lasts, ok?

I probably watched about 50 or less anime series, and read probably as many manga. I'm currently on Hajime no Ippo for manga (its about 800+, yummy, hehe) and Gintama's what I'm currently watching, and probably the only one I wanted to watch right now. It's clearly the best anime for me (though Ippo, Slamdunk, GTO, School Rumble, Death Note and Rurouni Kenshin are worthy competiton).

I'm actually more a manga fan than an anime fan, because sometimes when some manga series are turned into anime, it leaves much to be desired (ex. Ichigo 100%). That's one of the best reasons why I'm hooked w/ Gintama. It's one of those series whose anime counterparts had really stayed true to it and actually made it a lot better. The seiyuus (and the dialogue of their characters) are the lifeblood of this anime series. OP and ED songs also make a great impact (I mean look at the OP, Shura and Donten are some of the coolest that I've heard and seen so far.)

Though I still read some Shonen Jump series (Naruto, Bleach and Eyeshield 21, I've always kept myself updated), it all boils down to what you want or capture your interest. There's enough anime and manga around to amuse and entertain us, and our children. And the best part of it is that new ones are always being made from time to time.

@ proud2beme

same here too, dude. probably it depends more on perception & inclination. i'm a teacher, got many friends, still studying for my master's degree and life as of now is a bit of the weird & boring. but don't feel bad, they just didn't now, that there's a LOT of us. so we aren't lonely, hehe.

@Yamakawa12

don't worry dude, you're not that old yet (you're just about 5 yrs older than me so think positive, hehe). I still remember the OP & ED songs for Voltes V, Daimos and a lot of older stuff, hehe. My friends and I sometimes even sing them when we're drinking (or when we're drunk or either of the two, hehe).

u r otaku teacher? wow, cool!!! teacher normally will be ermmm...more boring n strict? no offence just from my experience. well if i have a teacher who enjoy anime n manga like me, how cool it will be!! hehe

i'm an accountant n most of my frenz in d same profession (u know how dull our life is ) so i'm really look like a freak to them. for a person in age 23 still enjoy watching cartoon n read comics (although i try to argue how diff anime n manga is :P)

luckily now i'm working in d advertising interactive comp which is most of the people in here r as freak as me (almost everyone have vinil/figurine in their desk) n make me feel normal. u r rite!!! i just realise, theres a lot of people like us!!!

p/s - we have quite similar taste, slam dunk n rurouni kenshin deffinitely 1 of d best manga i ever read.
