Err, those clothes are fucking ugly, and as much as any Japanophile would refuse to acknowledge this: most Japanese don't wear that bullshit.

I agree with you completely, those clothes are vile, I don't like that kind of style in England, so it's not going to change in Japan. You're right about most Japanese not wearing that, most Japanese dress pretty conservatively, but 'Japanophiles' as you call them (good word btw ;D) fail to see Japan as anything but an anime-obsessed, extortionately fashioned group of people to aspire to be.

I bet most of them wouldn't like the clothes if not from their beloved Japan.

ehh go take your oppinions somewhere else! and go cry a river,
derrr of course not all japanese people wear those brands im only talking about

I wear Neighborhood, Bape, and I have some kid robot. those are like their urban gear, the other things are as someone higher up said it's for harajuku and the other type of groups out there. japan has a wide array of fashion.

Well, a forum is a place for voicing my opinion, so I shall say it here. When I opened this thread, I expected it to look into at least some varieties of Japanese fashion, not just the scary looking goth ones. And I'll stand by the fact that a lot of people look at Japan with rose-tinted glasses, and refuse to see past this, I'm not saying everyone does.
What's GLP btw?
I like some Harajuku fashion btw, Decora completely fascinates me, I just don't like this side of Japanese fashion.

Anyway, I better be going now, since noone likes me.

You don't understand where I'm coming from. Japanese style was based off of American styles. They didn't come up with that stuff completely by themselves. I love Japan and I have nothing against the fashion. I just know that there will be people who are quick to bash American style (along with everything else American), and they should recognize that American style influenced Japanese style and continues to.

Japanese clothing are simply elegant. It is timeless and unique in its own right. Though it may be that these clothing get their influences from other styles, the touch of Japanese is basically imminent and would never falter to bring about the best in its wearer.
