What makes a good storyline?
Posted 7/14/08 , edited 7/14/08
A really good anime is one that will keep you entertained, as well as keep you guessing. Like When your pissed at the end of a episode, because it just didn't give you enough information. Also it has to be action filled, great artwork, humor, as well as a flowing plotline. These things keep people looking forward to the next episode.

there are many ways to make a plot successful
some aim for characters like in kenichi all the humor and the plot comes form the characters.
to tie the plot to real life events is another way even though the really story might be made up the audience think it could be real and above all shows how intelegent the producer or how hard he worked to not only write a good story but also reserch on wat happened. Good example of this is get backers and rurouni kenshin.
good animation would be used for the first sight. if u have nothing to watch and want to search a new serice good animation is wat u first look for.how ever if the story is bad it is usally droped. example of good graphics is fate stay night.
then there are always the serice that think outside the box if all animes look though the eyes of a hero why not look though a villains. if all animes are happy and has lots of light and life why not have one with lots of sad feelings, darkness and death. good examples are gintama (its just wtf random there is no anime like this), death note, hellsing, elfen lied

thanks guys good opinions gave me some insight.
What do think if a plot is only filled with like all serious plots instead of having some comedy.

hmm a good storyline would necessarily not be predictable, as a good twist attracts you into the anime more.
Also, plot holes, i mean come on WTSF, how more confusing can they get?
And they should not be so repetitive Ex Naruto . . . . . . . Believe it XD
But last but not least, you should be able to synchronize your emotions with the anime. If it gets exiting you get excited, if it gets sad you get depressed, get where I'm going at?
So Yeah XD Ps: I think Suzuka was a good anime that fitted my rubric perfectly XD

I have seen many ppl put down no plot holes, but it would be ok if the story was base of suspense or mystery rite!? since its what the viewers trying to find out in a way.

For me it has to be pretty relasitic and twist turns hidden love hidden haterd and a love connection....And 1 thing they all need is like able characters.... you never wanna find yourself watching an anime and you cant stand the main character

a stable goal, a protagonist (main character), an antagonist (bad guy), a plot twist, and some kind of moral to it all

just add a few demons and you got yourself
A) an action pact thriller
B) a monster slayer flick
or my choice C) an action/romantic comedy about the struggles and hardships of a boy having forbiden relationships with monsters (or demons whatever you want to call them)

choice C would probably do very well with fans of Rosario+Vampire

please quote to add any thing i forgot (maybe but not likely someone will read this and be inspired to make it into an anime [wishful thinking] but it could still happen)
