Very nice analogy... Well, let's hope Shuurei makes the right decision or rather Ryuuki make the best decision as the emperor of Saiunkoku.

Anyway, I think they will end up together... no matter what we do.. that is how the story goes... I really wanted Sieran though... too bad they are not going to end up together..

She took such a short time to get attracted to Sakujun - the handsome sociopath- but still does not have "that kind of feelings" for poor Ryuuki who is still waiting for her.
Frankly, I pity him...

In my opinion, I think Shuurei loves her career more than Ryuuki. I can understand how she looks at the situation, and how she doesn't want to just look pretty and help Ryuuki, when she wants to be independent, and do thing on her own.

I personally..is also sick of all the Ryuuki supporters...Okay..how I look at it, everyone's opinion [who are supporters of Sakujun and Ryuuki, and including wikipedia's opinion] Seiran looks at Shuurei with older brother eyes...the last time I checked, my older brother didn't come at me, saying that if I really wanted to marry a [psycopath] guy, that he would be a much better choice...So he does have feelings for Shuurei, it's just so concealed, since it's his personality to not show a lot of affection, oh, and because, don't you think, that both Ryuuki and Seiran never got what they wanted?

Ryuuki never had a good childhood, and was abused often, and when his four older brothers were fighting over the throne, who knows what he was doing...and then suddenly, all four of the older brothers died, the only older brother that could've succeeded to throne was exhiled 12 and a half years ago, so he was suddenly thrust to the throne.

Seien didn't either. Like come on, you should think...Seien was the fiftth son of the emperor....if the sixth son was that less loved, wouldn't the fifth? He was suddenly pushed out of a life of luxury at 13, because of his mother's and [I think] uncle's nasty planning on getting Seien to succeed the throne after his father, even though his father was going to chooose him anyways.

So, okay, we have a spoiled, I-can-get-anything-I-want-but-Shuure-waaaahhh whiny and childlish emperor [SORRY Ryuuki fans!!], and a mysterious, quiet soldier, that barely gets anything he wants. If Seiran wants Shuurei, wouldn't he deserve her?
Ryuuki only sees Shuurei as a mother figure [hence the blushing with the mother comment in Saiunmono I], and that's what he loves her for. Don't you love your own mother?

Okay, I'm also a Riku Seiga supporter. Finally....Shuurei has met a match, that doesn't treat her like special just because she's the first female governor.

i just love shuurei and the way she acts...so,it doesnt bother me what she'll do..i think..there's nothing i can do..and i will just wait and watch

I know Shuurei truely loves Ryuuki because of how she acts with anything concerning him but her job is almost equally important to her. And I remember something being mentioned in the novels:
